HELP! Inexpensive wedding needed!

Hello ladies,

I recently got engaged and we have set a date for next Spring hopefully, if the prices are not outrageous..

The thing is we have extremly large families and we have a low budget.

I am not too familair with Long Island, so I am asking for some advice on nice, yet inexpensive halls and some advice on dates so the price will not be that high.

Thank,

Audrey

Hello and welcome!!! We would be more than happy to help, but you need to provide us with a bit more info.
How many people are you looking to have?
Are you willing to do it on a friday or sunday night?
How much are you looking to spend per person?

For starters I would check out the coral house in baldwin, manor east in massapequa, and the swan club in roslyn

How many guests do you plan on having and what would you like to pay per person?

Congrats on your engagement. You came to the right place

I know that weekday evenings are the cheapest times to get married. YOu can also try Sunday morning or evening.

What is your idea of cheap? There are some places for around $60-$75 a head like Crest Hollow Country Club and Stewart Manor.

Re: HELP! Inexpensive wedding needed!

Ok, ready:

I am looking to have no more than 225.
I want a Friday night wedding. No sundays.
Depending on what is included, I want to spend no more than $85 a person.

I never planned a weddding before so I am a rookie in this department, but I feel like I have only one option to cut the costs, cut the list????

In that price range with that many people, definately check out the Manor East.

Friday night should keep the cost down a little. I got a price less than that per person at the Inn at east wind, but I have a lot less people!

Hi-

Check out my budget vendor webpage when you find a hall. You can also try Huntington Townhouse.

OH - I forgot to mention the basic things!

Get the book 'Bridal Bargains' - newest version. Livesaver!

Check out eBay for most of your accessories.

Also check out www.fireyourweddingplanner.com

Good luck and welcome!

Check out the Swan Club, that's definitely in your price range and they have beautiful gardens.

Congrats...Welcome to LIW

The Wedding Sites and Services site is a great start bc you get price ranges, pics and sample menus of all the places. Also there's a map divided by nassau and suffolk showing were all the reception places are located on the island.

Try Leornard's, when you have a large reception they will work with you on the price. Especially if you are flexible like having a Fri wedding. This was one of our top 3 choices, but they didn't have our date available.

LaGrange Inn was also nice, the banquet manager is sooooo sweet. The place has a nice cozy feeling with a fireplace in the foyer. The large room is very open and bright. They quoted me $60/pp for sat night in July.

Huntington Townhouse is also very flexible with their prices. Play hard ball with them and you can get a pretty good deal. There are mixed reviews about HT but it's worth checking out. I didn't have a good experience with a particular banquet manager when I was looking. But my BM who worked with the same banquet manager 2 yrs ago said he was great. I was in her wedding and I remember to room was really nice and the food was pretty good, definitely plenty of it.

Good Luck!

Choose your date carefully...the last Friday in April is a good one...prices generally go up in May...also ask about Good Friday (if its not a church wedding). Good luck.
