HELP!! Inviting Boss?

So my friend Michelle (mrpepe) & I work together and we've run into a wall....lol Is it necessary to invite the head of our department to our weddings????

I haven't even thought about it until she brought it up just now (thanks michelle )....We both thought 'no' until 2 people said we should....

But now if she invites them to hers, I'd have to invite them to mine and I'm not even inviting my direct boss (b/c well, I'm just not & I shouldn't post on a public forum why lol)

complicated? what do you all think?

(mind you my list is getting Out of control & I need to stop at some point)

She would both just not invite any work people?????

k is it a small office? are you close w them??? if yes to both then yes invite. i have the same problem but i decided i would invite him... and some other but not my whole office and i have a small office of like 17 people lol

I was told you are supposed to invite your boss. Hoepfully they will not come but send a check

Are we close with them? no, not at all.
Is our department small? There is about 25 of us

(What is with my guestlist problems lately??!!)

I'm having the same problem in my office. I work in a small office, but I am not too social. I will only be inviting my close friend, my direct supervisor n 2 other colleagues. Wedding etiquette is, if you are running out of space, the first to go are office mates!!

I have the same issue. Just invited two people in the office I'm close with and my boss. Ugh... it gets too much

I didn't invite a single person from work. I wanted to be surrounded by people at my wedding that I love....or at least like. Not one of them said anything about not being invited to me.

See, that's what we were just saying to one another. I don't think they'd even notice if they weren't invited.

And there are like 14 or so of us-- and they all have SO's...

So I'm having TWO tables of just work people b/c everyone is close and the girl I work with just got married last year and invited everyone too so I REALLY have to...

My brother who got married 12 or 13 years ago didNOT invite any co-workers. Bot him and my sister-in-law had tons of CLOSE friends at work but kjnew that it would be way too much $ to invite them all. So NOONE was invited- noone insulted, everyone understood, and here we are 13 years later and the 2 of them havent seen ANY SINGLE ONE of those people in over 10 years....

its OBVIOUSLY totally up to you, but thats my bro's situation! hth!

I don't have a problem with this but our guestlist is between 350-400, so thats why i am a bit worried...With everyone else it will be hard, theres about 60 workers, so obviously wouldn't invite all

It is proper to invite your immediate boss. Depending on how close you are to him/her will decide whether they show or not, but even if they don't show they may give a gift which is a good thing.

this is very tough.
I, personally invited my boss. However, I consider her a friend, too.
She lives in MN ( I am in a satellite office in NY) and I am not sure if she will come.

There are only 2 other people who I work with (In my office) but I did NOT invite them.

I'm inviting both my branch and assistant branch managers. The main reason why past being close to them, is that the proposal would never have happened the way it did if it wasn't for my branch manager.

But you don't have to. It might be a little sticky if one does and the other doesn't but there's no rule saying that either of you have to.

You don't have to. It is up to you. If you are not close to them then don't bother

I am not inviting any work ppl. I am a recruiter for my company so all of the VP's I work with and my bosses would just be too much so we opted for none.
