Help- Location for Ceremony/Reception

Help- Location for Ceremony/Reception

Hi all,

Recently engaged...heart set on Flowerfield..most likely can't afford it.

With lack of emotional (and therefore, most likely- monetary) support from my father and his side of the family due to us being an interfaith couple, we are re-thinking the location. Attended another wedding at the Riviera that was very nice...never had better food than the one at Flowerfield... anyway, I digress...

Does anyone have any suggestions for a reasonably priced location where we could have both the ceremony and reception? Perhaps something a bit similar to the Riviera? (or, of course, if there is somehow magically and miraculously a lower budget version of Flowerfield, do tell)

I was thinking perhaps the Floral Terrace...although I grew up and work right near there, and one of our good friends is getting married there in the summer...so I'm just kinda eh...

Btw, anyone know anything about that whole free Greek honeymoon thing (Floral Terrace/Sand Castle)? I plan to go and find out in person, but in the meantime, I keep getting different stories...

Thanks so much for any help or advice you have!!

what price range are you looking for and how many people are you inviting? That will give is a better idea of places to suggest.
If you are willing to change dates, this could make a big difference in prices.
Under $100?
B/W $60-80?

Leonards can accomodate the ceremony and reception, and they're reasonably priced. I've never been to Flowerfield or Riviera, so I don't know how Leonards compares to them, but I've been to both Floral Terrace and Sand Castle, and Leonard's food is comparable in quality (a bit less quantity at cocktail hour), and Leonards doesn't do 1 wedding at a time (hence more reasonably priced).

First off Congratulations! Sorry I can't help you out because I only looked at 2 places. But you can go to weddingsitesandservices.com and search for all the possible places you would want to check out.

Happy Planning!

we had our reception at Larkfield Manor in E Northport. they also have a ceremony area. I think the price is reasonable.

place is lovely; the people wonderful to work with and oodles of delicious food.

pics in my album and also a slideshow in video lib.

look into Westbury Manor. They usually try to work with you on price if you're flexible with your wedding date.

Jericho Terrace has excellent food and affordable pricing!

Most places on LI have ceremony sites in the RH or outside depending on the time of the year.

Chateu Le Mer
Windows on the Lake
Westbury Manor

The list could go on forever.

Congratulations on your engagement!
I think you should check out The George Washington Manor in Roslyn. I've been to a shower there & i think it's very pretty and charming. The food was good too & I know they host weddings as well as ceremonies.

I've never been to but may be worth checking out:
The Milleridge Cottage
The Thatched Cottage
West Sayville Country Club
Windows on the Lake (I've been to a wedding @ Beach Club estate right next door & it was very pretty. I think that BCC is closed for renovations right now)
I was married @ The Vineyard Caterers which has very reasonable prices for daytime weddings. (Not quite sure of the exact cost since we had an evening wedding but I believe it's considerable lower)

There are a ton of reviews on the review board to check out some of these venues!

Re: Help- Location for Ceremony/Reception

Sorry I did not see your post earlier...I am getting married at the Sand Castle in July 2010. I think it is a great deal for what you are getting, but it can be a little pricey (FM me for a quote). As for the Greek honeymoon thing, it is totally legit. You will get 10 days in a suite with a private pool in Crete. Breakfast and dinner will be paid for. I was a little wary, so I spoke with a neighbor whose family is from Crete. They said the hotel (Aegean Palace) is very reputable, very luxurious, just not very well known outside of Crete (hence the free honeymoon).

Let me know if I can help any more!

I have never been to flowefield but the pictures kind of remind me of the thatched cottage. I went to the thached cottage and I thought it was really great and pretty reasonable

My favorite RHs that I looked at were: Jericho Terrace and Chateau Briand.

My girlfriend booked at Floral Terrace and was offered a free Greece trip to a hotel that the family owns. Im not sure exactly where in Greece though and Im not too sure whether or not they are taking the trip either. They were kind of up in the air about it.

I heard from another source that it wasnt in a great area of Greece though and it was far from all the attractions.......BUT again, its rumors (she told her and her told them and they told him....blah, blah, blah) that just keep circling so who knows the real story, ya know?

Ill try to find more info on it from my friend =)

Good luck with everything!!!!!
