Re: Help Me please
Don't be scared. It can be done in that amount of time if you want it to. My SIL & Brother got engaged just after Valentines Day 2001 & were married 9/8/01. So it is possible

Re: Help Me please
It CAN be done and there are several brides who can tell you so because they did it! Personally, I wouldnt want to do it that way because that would just be way to much stress for my very anal retentive self :D But you are lucky to have found this board because there are so many good recommendations here, you could virtually book all these vendors on reputation alone and come out happy. If you have some specific questions, just ask - you will get a great response from all the girls here.

Re: Help Me please
LisaI just read your profile, and seriously don't worry.
I tried some dresses on in the Centerreach Bridal Suite. The girl who helped me was just great....I forget her name thoug, bc I ended up using a place in Nassau.
Regards the dress, I think Davids Bridal might be a good place to start for ideas, and they have a quiick turnaround on dresses. Depending on your size, usually a 10 - 12 (Street size) you might be able to buy a store model dress. I did - to save $$ more than time

Don't be nervous. I got engaged 7/4/02 and am getting married 1/31/03. You can get a GREAT deal on a reception site if you book 7-9 months 'out' from your wedding. I got my reception site at a HUGE discount ($50 off the per person plate). If you need any help, don' t be afraid to ask.

Welcome to Power Planning
When there is a will there is a way. Just do research to cut down on how many places to visit and wasting your time with vendors out of your price range/not what you are looking for. You can plan this wedding!!!! Tell us a bit about what you are looking for and we will can help.

Re: Help Me please
Hi Lisa,Welcome. First, you have to decide upon the date - it will be easier to plan if you have an idea how much time you have exactly. I would suggest that you start with the hall - what are you looking for? I am sure ladies here will give you all the feedback you may need in that area. Are you looking for a small, cozy place or a big, stunning, palace-like setting? Also, decide how many people approx. you'll have - that may eliminate some of the halls due to their minimums/maximums. The rest will come easier as most halls have their florist/DJ/phograher, etc. recommendations.
The most important thing - do not feel overwhelmed - you will see that this site will give you all the answers you'll need (and then some!) Happy planning and ask away!

Re: Help Me please
I got engaged in February and was married in October. I had plenty of time, and everything was fine! Of course, my dad helped a lot financially, if we had to save up it would have been another story. the major regret I have is rushing through my photographer choice - other than that I had no problem planning in 8 months. good luck and congrats!

Re: Help Me please
First off Congrats to you
second, I would take advantage of all the advice on this board. I don't think its impossible but it may be hard. Try not to settle for vendors that are open you may regret it in the end. Make sure all of your vendors have a good reputation.
Happy Planning!!!!

Re: Help Me please
You'll be fine.1. Do a search on this site for each and every vendor you are considering and see if we've posted anything about them. Chances are we have
2. Check w/Better Business Bureau online to make sure they havent had complaints.
3. Be organized as possible, carry around a digi-cam if you have one. If not, a regular camera will do. Also carry around a notebook/palm pilot, whatever to keep notes.
4. Make a to-do list, and keep to it.
5. Decide what type of wedding you want, what size, etc. . . and only meet w/vendors that will meet those needs, don't waste time on vendors you already know will not be able to offer you what you want.
6. Excel Spreadsheets are a great way to keep notes on your computer
7. ASK, ASK, ASK, Ask us ANY questions you have, don't be shy. Welcome and good luck
