Help me please..I'm in honeymoon HELL!

I can't believe that the most stressful part of my wedding has become the planning of what is supposed to be the most relaxing time! Here's the deal...I am an absolutel CHICKEN when it comes to flying...I just can't do it...so FH and I were going to drive down to the Florida Keys for our HM. Well, numerous people we spoke to said it may not be the best spot for our HM and to be honest, I really did want to go some place more 'caribbean-like'. I mean, it's my HM! It should be something special. So someone mentioned to me that it is possible to take a boat from Florida over to the Bahamas...but only Grand Bahama Island, not Paradise Island. Has anyone ever been there? Where did you stay? Are there a lot of things to do? (we are interested in snorkling, swimming with the dolphins, glass bottom boats, jetskiing, shopping ) ANY info would be SOOOOOOOO appreciated! I am seriously about to pull all of my hair out. Oh, and just an aside...Am I the only nut who can't fly??? Thank you ladies...it felt good to vent for a moment.

I understand your're fear of flying..I am really bad too. Have you ever tried taking something for it (like Xanax?) or is that out of the question? I'm just asking b/c I finally took it last time we flew (not sure what took me so long) and I was not nervous at ALL..it made such a difference.

If flying IS out...I would also rec a cruise!!

How about a cruise that leaves from NY? They go to the Bahamas, etc.

I took a cruise from NY to the Bahamas last year and absolutely loved every minute of it! I would look into a cruise, it sounds like it has everything you are looking for.

And don't forget, cruises leave from Jersey, Philly, and Baltimore as well. HTH

We were only at sea for two days, one in the beginning and one at the end. It gave us an excuse to enjoy everything the ship had to offer. We made stops in Port Canaveral (Day at Universal Studios), Miami (beach, shopping, eating and drinks in South Beach), the private island and Paradise Island (tour of the island and rest of the day at Atlantis).

The Sheraton / WEstin at Our Lucaya on Grand Bahama is very nice and the people are great and the facility is very nice but there is not much to do outside of the resort. They have jet skis and all watersports at the resort and dolphin swims near by. The bad thing is that it is not all inclusive and due to that because there is nothing around they are pretty expensive at the restaurants and bars.
