Hi Everyone! I'm new on the site and am in need of some advice.
I currently live in San Francisco and just booked the Bourne Mansion in Oakdale NY for my Aug 2008 wedding. I only got to see the venue once and it was a super quick visit. Can anyone give me some insight on their experiences with the site? How about any advice on planners? flowers? hotels churches in the area?
It is so hard to plan a wedding from so far away!!

Hi and welcome to the boards!! I also live in SF and planned my wedding in NYC...definitly check out the Brides Review Forum on here and do a search and type in Bourne Mansion. There have been so many brides on here that got married there, its a absolutely beautiful place.
You will find this place to be very useful with all of your needs. Also the 08 girls are really helpful as well so you can ask them specific questions about vendors on there.

Hey We're getting married at the Mansion in September.. we just booked Duet Photograpy and Bravura Entertainment.. Both vendors are amazing and are very comfortable with the venue. I love the Bourne Mansion..so beautiful.. I have hear nothing but good things
I am getting married at the Bourne Mansion next September. My FH and I happened to go look at it on a Saturday that they were having an event and it was set up amazingly!
LI Weddings is obviously a great resource for planning an LI wedding. I live in NJ and this site has been a god send.

I am getting married at Timber Point , which is another Lessing's facility and I live about 10 minutes away from the Bourne Mansion. I'd be happy to help you out with any questions you might have!

Hi!! I live in SF too and am planning a wedding in NY at the venetian yacht club for Aug 2008!! Anyway, I've used the brides review to help out with vendors, it's really helpful. Luckily my parents still live on Long island so my mom has been going to my appointments, and checking out some of the other places. I've only seen my venue from pics so I'm relying on my Mom's opinion and the other reviews on this stie. It's definitely stressful and a little scary when you can't see everything yourself, but I just keep telling myself that it's all going to workout.
