I dont know what to do.... We have been looking for a place for our wedding on this labor day weekend. I've checked riverview, snapper Inn, captain bills, gurneys inn, beach club estate, 3VI, and numerous other venues. The problem is, besides the short notice, the amount of people. Its a second wedding for both of us so we want it small about 50 people. Every place is either booked already or has a higher minimum. I really wanted something near the water but now I would just settle for something that has an outdoor area. Changing the date is not an option as we have people coming from out of the country.
Any other suggestions????? In nassau or suffolk or westchester.

Would you consider Manhattan? Labor Day is usually pretty quiet in the city. You may get a good deal on a place...

For that size wedding you can have it at a really nice restaurant.
I am also having a small wedding this memorial day weekend in the city and i didnt find any deals.
Good Luck!

I would try a restaurant on the water. I could name tons of them - where are you looking? One of the other girls mentioned the nautical mile in Freeport, or there's the Oar in Patchogue, there are quite a few nice restaurants in Bablyon on the water also. You could also try Northport or Huntington Bay. There used to be a 'club' in Huntington right on the water - it has a dance floor and everything. DAMN! I can't remember the name of it - I'll think about it and FM you.

I think Milleridge Inn with accomodate you. My sister threw a small wedding reception there (less than 50) and they gave us a private room. The food was incredible and we had top-notch service... :)
Also, someone I know had they're wedding at the Thatched Cottage (they had 50 ppl). Their wedding was a while ago, but that place is on the water if you want to check it out (give them a call).
Hope that helps!!!

Re: Help... running out of time
I looked at places giving minimum of 60 - - but that was for a Sunday so Sat might be higher. Anyway you could check Irish Coffee Bar in Islip, Bedell's in Freeport, Larkfield manor in E. Northport. Harbor Club in Huntington is on the water and has an upstairs room. La piazza does a buffet wedding; they're in Merrick I think.
