Help... running out of time

Original post by nanny111

I dont know what to do.... We have been looking for a place for our wedding on this labor day weekend. I've checked riverview, snapper Inn, captain bills, gurneys inn, beach club estate, 3VI, and numerous other venues. The problem is, besides the short notice, the amount of people. Its a second wedding for both of us so we want it small about 50 people. Every place is either booked already or has a higher minimum. I really wanted something near the water but now I would just settle for something that has an outdoor area. Changing the date is not an option as we have people coming from out of the country.

Any other suggestions????? In nassau or suffolk or westchester.

Have you looked at Westbury Manor? They have rooms for small weddings and a beautiful outdoor area/gardens. But they may be already booked.

How about 21 Main in Sayville? I know it's not by the water, but the water is kinda close!

OMG- Looked at a place called Le Chateau in South Salem, NY. The most beautiful place I have ever seen. But it's too far. So to all you westchester brides..... check them out for sure.

Tomorrow I will call sunset harbour and smithtown landing. The full count is up to 70 now.... I'm putting my foot down at 75. I really want to keep this small and intimate.

THe problem I'm finding is I really want somthing unique.... not ballroomish if that makes sense. lol.

Anyway THANK YOU all for these ideas.

For a smaller size party restaurants are always great. Smaller minimums and Intimate spaces.

I'm getting married at the swan club in Roslyn. Everyone there is so accomodating and they have great prices. They just reduced their ratesfor 07 weddings, that's how we got such a good deal. Give it a shot. There are a couple pictures of it on my proile.
