Help! 'To toss or not to toss': that is the question

Help! 'To toss or not to toss': that is the question

I was just wondering how many brides are doing the tossing of the bouquet and garter at their reception. I'm still undecided. Is it still often done or is it an antiquated tradition? Thanks.

I am but my mom suggested something a little different...

She just went to a wedding and instead of doing the toss they asked every MARRIED couple onto the dance floor, and then they said those who have been married more than 5 years, please stay on the dance floor, and the rest sat down, then 10 years, 15 years, 20 years etc... they were left with one couple that was married for over 50 years! and that couple got a bouquet of flowers :)

I have been to weddings recently that skipped it, but personally I enjoy it. I'm going to do it because DH and I are both looking forward to it. It's up to you really, if you like it go for it! If you think it's corny cut it! It is your day after all

We are not doing it, but not because it's antiquated, just because we don't think there are enough single people.
If you want to do it-go for it!!

I always like the bo-k and garter toss, we'll be doing them. We won't do a garter dressing though, I never liked that/ Yeah, let me let some strange guy stick his hand up my skirt so he could put a garter on my leg. No thanks!

We're not doing the garter toss- it's just not us.

BUT we are doing the bouqet toss- I ALWAYS looked forward to this at weddings (when I was single, of course )

I love the idea of the anniversary dance, also. We went to a wedding that had this and it was touching.

we're not doing either. We'd rather have the extra time it would take to do that for people to dance.

Same here, 95% of the guests at our reception were married or engaged so it woulda been pointless for us to have done it.

we;re not doing it. Ive seen women have full on meltdowns when they're singled out. no garter / no bouquet toss.

Definately not the garter.. but maybe on the bo-k toss... my RH has a great balcony that would be a nice photo op...

but I love the anniversary dance - I may do that too!

We didn't do either one. We weren't fans of the anniversary dance either. We just did nothing - I didn't even order a toss bok.
