So for personal reasons, FH and I have decided not to have his psycho mother walk him down the aisle. She has made us sick through out the whole wedding. She JUST decided that she's actually going. She's done NOTHING for the entire wedding besides put us down and tell us how our marriage wont work out. Oh yea, and she decided to have her 3rd wedding with the 3rd guy 3 weeks before our wedding... the spiteful biatch. Sorry to vent ... LOL..
Back to my question, who can walk FH down the aisle??? I was thinking my mom since i dont have anyone to walk her down. (no brothers, no uncles) I dont know what to do!! please help, i need your expertise! I need as much help as possible!
Thank you so much!

Re: HELP... Walking down the aisle question
I don't have any expertise in walking down the aisle since I haven't done it yet. But, I think it would be a sweet gesture to have your mom walk your FH down the aisle. But I would tell oue yFMIL first, just to make sure you're not stepping on any toes, and to ensure that she finds out BEFORE the ceremony. That way, any problem she has with it can be stated before the ceremony and not DURING it. Other than that, I think you should go for it! Good luck.

Re: HELP... Walking down the aisle question
I think your mom walking FH down would be nice or does FH has sister, aunt, close relative that would want to do it? Good luck!!

Re: HELP... Walking down the aisle question
I totally agree with Beth...you don't want her to be caught by suprise and pull anything. FH walking with your mom sounds like a cute idea. If that doesn't work out him walking alone is fine too. Good Luck and sorry about FMIL.

Re: HELP... Walking down the aisle question
I think he should walk down alone. If he didn't have any help to get there, he deserves the honor.
There's also the best man. It would be a nice honor for them to walk side-by-side.
Same thing for your mom. She deserves the honor of walking down alone.

Re: HELP... Walking down the aisle question
Great responses! FH does have a sis, but she's a bridesmaid. In regards to his mother, believe me, at this point, I dont mind stepping on any toes. It would be my pleasure!
But can he walk down alone or with his best man?? Is this normal?? Same for my mom??
I think some of you are right when you say.. 'if they did it alone, let them walk alone.' I like that. Any other ideas?

Re: HELP... Walking down the aisle question
My aunt got married and she had a very good friend of hers walk her down the aisle, my grandfather(her dad) had passed a few years before...so she opted for just him. He wasnt part of the wedding party, just a good friend. His best man can walk with him too, I dont think it would be weird...but then again I dont have experience walking down the aisle either...HTH

Re: HELP... Walking down the aisle question
When I got married my husband didn't walk down the aisle - he came up the back stairs - most weddings I have gone to the groom doesn't walk down the aisle they come up the side alone with the Best Man or a back door at the front of where the ceremony is taking place.
