We are trying to choose between the Westbury Manor (Manor room) or the Woodbury Country club (lakeside rooms). We saw both today and are very torn. Any experiences as either a bride/groom or guest. Which would you choose and why? The more opinions the better! We are thinking of June 1st of 08. Thanks so much

I booked WM for that exact date, thats funny. Sorry the Manor room is already booked. They didnt tell you that . Both are very lovely places.

Were you looking for an afternoon wedding or evening wedding? The manor room might be available for the afternoon. I am surprised that still have dates opened. When I visitied them, they had almost everything booked for the summer months. I just feel in love with their gardens, victorian style era decor and the food I heard is amazing.

Definitely WCC!! We visited both, and while the grounds of WM are beautiful, we were not happy with the size and look of the rooms - esp. the CH room. I have heard nothing but amazing things about the food and service at WCC, and they have been great to deal with so far!

i liked WCC's outdoor area more so than WM's. i thought the inside of WM was very dark whereas WCC was more open with more light. i was torn between having an outdoor or an indoor ceremony. if i were to have an outdoor ceremony, i would have chosen WCC.

DEFINETLY WOODBURY COUNTRY CLUB.. WM is very nice but they have bad business practices. interestingly they didn't tell you someone already had the room booked.
and the last time i was there the lobby was SOOO busy.. it wasn't even cool.. lol. they had two weddings plus a bar mitzah... way too much going on in my opinon.. and for the lobby to be that small, u'r destined to run into the other bridal party cause they only stagger bout 30 minutes.. i'd go with WCC.. plus WCC just redid the carpets in their downstairs room.. like a week ago...

its so funny you posted this, because WM and WCC were our top two choices. We went with WM because we just loved everything about it, we felt that the inside decor of WM couldn't come anywhere near WCC.. it has that 'old world charm,' KWIM?

Great thanks for the suggestions so far. We are looing at an afternoon wedding/ceremony, I think it starts at 12 goes to 5, so thats why WM said the Manor room was available. Feel free to keep experiences/opinions coming they are very helpful! This is such a hard decision and what if it rains?!?

Bad business practices?????? WOW of all the reviews on WM I have never heard/read anything like that. Thanks for sharing that

I've never been to the WCC, but I loooooove the WM!!! The gardens are so beautiful! Plus they are giving us a great menu. On top of all the cocktail hour choices, they are also giving our guests the choice of 7 different main entrees.
