I went to see my sample centerpiece this past weekend, and I have to admit that I wasn’t too thrilled about them. I had asked for bright colors, with a very summery feel that invoke a garden party feel. I don’t want white/ivory or pastel flowers. Since the tables at my reception site are oval, I thought that having multiple arrangements on each table would be nice.
I’m just not sure if the like the flowers that were used. The pictures below are after I asked to have the orange lilies taken out and replaced with other flowers. I’m still not crazy about them. Do the CPs look too messy? Should I ask for more of the same flowers? I don’t want all roses, and I want the CPs to have some texture, but these just look a little sloppy to me. Am I crazy?
I’m meeting with another florist to see their sample in a couple of weeks. I was much more specific with Florist #2, so hopefully that one will turn out more to my liking.
Oh, and what do you think of the table runner? They would be narrower, and of course on an oval table.

I actually really like them. I think the colors are beautiful. The 3 diff arrangements will look good on the oval table, and I love the table runner. If you think it looks to 'messy' maybe take away the scattered petals? You can also ask the florist to tighten the arrangement a bit, maybe take out those green leafy things?

I love them!! I love the square vase. I was actually thinking of doing that myself with summer flowers as well.
They are pretty but I think you're right they don't seem summery to me. They almost seem geared more toward fall.

I agree with this. I will take off the scattered petals since you have two other arrangements on the side. I think the orange flowers gives it that fall feel. If they are taken out, it will look summery. They can be replaced with another color of the same flower. I like it.

I think they are beautiful. If you don't think they are bright enough for summer, maybe you could try removing the darker red color and adding something lighter like a yellow. Maybe even something bright green.

I love them too... I think they do look summery but if you're unsure I agree with a previous poster that said add some greens-perhaps some hydrangea?

I think it looks better without the runner. The runner is tthe same color as teh flowres, they pop more on a white background.
I also think it will look neater without the scattered petals. I love the square vase & the 2 litle vases.
I think the flower colors need a little more variation. The pinks & reds look nice togethher, but they blend. I think the thing that would make it look summery is variety, like yellows & blues, purples, reds & pinks all mixed together.
ETa- I also think mixing in a little white will make it look summery, & not too pastel & bridal.

I like it better with the orange - gives the CP's some extra color and depth... but adding light pink or yellow would brighten it up too. I agree that the table runner is a bit much and the flowers stand out more on the white table cloth. But I love the style and setup

I really like the centerpieces, but agree that if you were to take away the table runner and perhaps add some yellow, it'd look a tad more summery! Having said that, it's YOU that needs to be pleased, so I hope you are able to communicate your desires with whichever florist you chose. Good Luck!

I agree with this..but the flowers are definately summery looking to me. I also think they should be tighter.

The colors are beautiful, definitely bright enough, but I see what you mean about the messiness. Maybe you can narrow down the # of different flowers to use, so it will be more symmetrical
