Hey girls. I am having the hardest time trying to find everyday dishes. Our china was easier to pick out. I love floral designs and grape design, my hsuband loves modern. We have a black and white kitchen (black appliances, white floor). I love tan colored, beige colored dishes. He would love white/black/gray. Can you girls show me some ideas of every day dishes (maybe post a pic. of what you have). Iam having the hardest time trying to find something floral, light colored that I would like and at the same time trying to match our kitchen. Any help/suggestions/pics would be soo appreciated. I think we visited every store on LI!

Re: Help with Everyday dishes
I am sorry we have black appliances and white CABINETS. The floor is white too though. And our formal china is simple white with a platinum band (no design) so I wanted something with a little more detail to it since our formal china is so simple and elegant looking. Thanks!

Have you looked in IKEA? They have great dishes that are really simple! We have their '365' dishes--they are simple white and look like restaurant plates! We love them!!

Re: Help with Everyday dishes
Denise, we have ones from Portmeirion, they are actually one of the ones in LisaT's first post. They are the second from the bottom. I think they are called Dawn, or Dusk or something light related So I would suggest Portmeirion.

Re: Help with Everyday dishes
Mistyeyed....I agree. Hubby picked out our everyday dishes, and Im NOT a big fan of them at all, but I do LOVE my china. I always see new patterns, but how many times can I change dishes.

thats what I was thinking looking at these - some are really pretty! My mom changes dishes every few years. I used to think she was crazy, but now I understand.

Re: Help with Everyday dishes
Make sure when you find your everyday dishes that you get a lot of them. I have a beautiful set of dishes that I love. Its a set of 4. I wish I would have had more because it was discontinued & I would have liked to use them when both my parents and his parents come over sometimes.

Re: Help with Everyday dishes
I have a set of 8 in everyday dishes, and 12 placesettings in my china.
It took me registering 3 times for casual plates until I found the ones I wanted...
I wanted an off white...but it was very hard...Fortunoffs and BBB both sell my casual, but not in the store...it has to be ordered (but it only takes 2 weeks max to get in)
edited to say: it looks a little darker in person this is 'linen,' but they also come in Green Tea, Sand, Piano, Acorn, Slate, & Lapis
if you want a pattern like this that is more 'available' Calvin Klein has a similar setting... stone, earth, kohl, cream, sage, sand, raisin
Lisa...I agree...my mom changes her casual plates...and I can totally see me wanting something else in a few years...and with the broken/missing plates...it will make sense
