HELP WITH FLOWERS

HELP WITH FLOWERS

HELP...I'm going to the floirst on Wednesday for the THIRD try at my centerpieces.

Here's what we were supposed to get but with red roses submerged....

What happened was...when we first met with the florist the lady that we met with swore up and down that it could be done with red roses...well apparently that lady was just a salesperson and not a florist. To make a long story short, it can't be done with red roses bc they float.

I've been searching for 2+ hours online tonight to see if there's a backup plan, but I don't really like anything else (we didn't want the big sprays of flowers...that's just not us).

Can anyone thing of something like this but with red flowers? I would LOVE LOVE LOVE red roses (that's the theme of my wedding), but with 17 days left, i'm getting frustrated (I already broke down once at the florist).

HELP PLEASE.........Thanks ladies!

I don't really have a suggesiton...but I hope you find a solution!!! Your florist didn't suggest something else that would work for you to fix the person that didn't know what they were talking about?

How annoying.

Re: HELP WITH FLOWERS

Is there a red orchid they can use? I know they use orchids in those a lot, but I've never seen a red one.

I really wanted a centerpiece like this but they were surprisingly expensive because of the glass, I guess...... so we did branches instead because I, like you, didn't want the traditional big spray of flowers.

And really, the florist can't recommend a single red flower that's submergeable?

Re: HELP WITH FLOWERS

Apparently orchids come in 'red' which I use red loosely because it's really pink....my mom started pulling apart other CP that were there to try to make something that could work...

On Wed. we're going back to see white orchids with red spray (baby) roses mixed in to see if I like that....I'm so upset. Totally ruined my vision!

Re: HELP WITH FLOWERS

There has to be a way they can anchor the roses. Can't they tie pond rocks to the stems and the bottom can just be pebbles to make the rocks blend?

Sounds crazy, but... Could they maybe glue the stems at the bottom or something?? Lol... That is so weird that red roses float and not white.

These people did it, I don't understand the problem

The heads are cut from th stems and anchored with gold wire... I think it works great.

I just saw that pic when I was searching and printed it for the dumb a$$ florist....they are the baby roses that my mom suggested so I'm hoping that the 3rd times the charm!!!

Thank you sooooooo much ladies for looking for me and for the suggestions...we're getting crystals on the bottom so I'm going to ask if he can anchor the roses in there (don't see why not)!

Could you use red tulips? It looks like they used tulips in the picture you posted.

Re: HELP WITH FLOWERS

It can absolutely be done with red roses, it is just labor intensive so they probably don't want to.
