Help with Minimum

I want to believe that some of you girls on here have really gotten to know a lot of the RH while venturing and researching them.

I am booked at the Westbury Manor and have to guarantee 225 in the winter. Does this seem high?

Anyway that I may be able to lower the guarantee?

That does seem a bit high. I am getting married in February and I was able to get my minimum down from 150 to 125. HTH

Hi there

I think they will be likely to lower the minimum required. We requested that ours be lowered and my wedding is also in Winter - in Feb.

It never hurts to ask - believe me!

That sounds very high! I would try negotiating, I'm sure they will come down.

hey, im guessing youre in the manor room..i was in there on a sunday nite in september one of their busiest months..my guarantee was 150..id talk to them, 225 is deifnately alot, unless its a saturday nite, maybe thats why

It does seem high. I called them when I first got engaged 6 months ago and also told me 225 for a Sat. night (over the phone) and that is why i didn't go look at the place.

Thanks for all of the advice with this.

According to my rep at WM the minimum can not change because they can always book more people. I guess I can look at it as taking a $5,000 loss if I cant get that many people.

I really think that it is beautiful there. I just hope everyone fits during cocktail hour and there isnt a snow storm

Did you try to negotiate lowering the minimum before or after you signed the contract and gave a deposit?

Generally halls will negotiate that before you sign, but once you sign, they won't change it. (If you get really close and cannot meet the minimum, they may throw in some extras, though)

Another thing, ask if you fall short of the minimum, can you use vendors to fill the spaces. For example, I asked my hall, if I guarentee 125 but only have 120, can I use 5 vendors to fill those spots...at least it's not a total waste of 5 spots!

Im in the manor room and my min is 185. My friend was also in the manor room and didnt make her guarentee so they ended up throwing in some things at cocktail hour. See what they can do!
