HELP with MOB dress

my mom bought her dress pretty quickly, she found it and fell in love with it, but the other day we went for a fitting and she realized that since it has 'bones' in the top, it forces her to sit straight up and the bones sort a lift a little when she sits.. i guess we didnt really think about that when she bought it
i dont want her to be unhappy or uncomfortable in her dress!.. today she asked me if its possible for the seamstress to remove the bones.. has anyone ever heard of doing this, is it even possible?
(i thought i would ask her first since our seamstress has a thick italian accent and sometimes its hard to explain things to her)

Have her or you explain the way she feels to the seamstress at the shop she bought it at. She is the one with the answer to that, but I can't see why not. I'm sure they have had stranger requests in the past. Also go to a private tailor and see what he/she says because the store may not want to do it, but a private person may.

they should be able to remove it if she wants, there is a channel sewn in at those seams and the boning sits in there so they should be able to open the channel and pull out the boning and sew it shut again. The only problem is it may not fit/look quite the same afterwards so make sure your seamstress is confident that it will be ok with that particular dress..
