Help with STD wording

I'm finally getting around to ordering my STDs and now I'm stuck on the wording. We have a website and I'm not sure how to phrase that they should go to it (the website happens to mention that there will be no children at the wedding). Here are my options (it would all be centered)

#1)
SAVE THE DATE

Kindly save the date for the wedding of
Jennifer XXXXX and James XXXXX
July 30, 2005
New Rochelle, NY

invitation to follow
for travel information please visit www.ourwebsite.com

**the 'for travel info....' would be on the same line as our website address

#2
SAVE THE DATE
Kindly save the date for the wedding of
Jennifer XXXXX and James XXXXX

New Rochelle, NY

invitation to follow

Re: Help with STD wording

I think you can get rid of the Save The Date... you are saying it twice.. here is what I would change it to:

July 30, 2005 (larger and bolded perhaps)

Kindly save the date for the wedding of
Jennifer XXXXX and James XXXXX
New Rochelle, NY

Please visit our web site for more wedding details
www.ourwebsite.com

I like keeping it simple-- and you spent the time to list all the detailed info on your site-- people will go there..

Re: Help with STD wording

Just finished mine...

Save the Date

Please mark your calendars
Jessica ***** and Carmine *****
Are getting married
September 17th 2005
Invitation to follow.

We decided to go with more of a mix between engagement announcement and save the date. Sort of two in one deal...

Would you drop the 'invitation to follow' completely? If not, where should it go and should I capitalize the 'i'? I never realized wording could be so annoying. I just don't want to hear his grandmother complaining that people will think that THIS is their invitation

Re: Help with STD wording

I would leave in the part about 'Invitation to follow.' And I would capitalize the I.

You can do anything you want.. I did not add it to mine, but the format of mine did not really allow for it.. I mean, most people know that an invite will follow although I have now had two people (under the age of 30 and who prob have received STDs before) tell me they got my invitation and it is so pretty.. Maybe it's just semantics- but, anyway- if you feel more comfortable leaving it there you can-- again, depends on the layout-- I just wanted to remove extra words- you want people to focus on the date, and who the wedding is for. Ya know?

Re: Help with STD wording

Definitely keep the invitation to follow. I can't even tell you how many people were confused when we sent ours and we had on there formal invitation to follow. I like the second layout the best.

Re: Help with STD wording

Just by talking to people I realized that 'invitation to follow' was really important because 90% of the people I talked (in NY) had never heard of a save the date and I can't imagine what my Midwest and southern guest would think. JMO
Also i put .
For lodging and other wedding info please visit www.ourwedding.com
Because some of my cluesless guests dont' even know that group hotel reservation exsist and wouldn't even visit the website. Give them a reason to visit the website.

Re: Help with STD wording

Can I please agree with the 'Invitation to Follow' -- outside of NY, people often do not customarily send STD's and people think this is an invite.
