My FMIL is getting married in less than a month and I don't have a dress to wear. They are very fancy people...so the wedding is a black tie formal dinner....and very very elegant.
All I really want is a floor length, black, fitted strapless dress. Or something like that. I keep finding these chiffon biased cut dresses....they are just not fancy enough and I dont like how they look on me.
PLEASE HELP ME FIND THIS. I cant find a dress anywhere. I have already been to Bloomies, Neiman Marcus, Saks, Nordstroms. Lohmans.

estelles dressy dresses rt 110 farmingdale...
nordstroms off the rack at the source in westbury has ALOT of formal dresses now... and cheap

Go to ABS in Wheatley Plaza. They are know for their dresses and they are very affordable.

Hmm...could you have someone make it for you? You could find a designer in the East Village, or in the Garment district maybe. East Village for sure though.
You haven't found anything in all of the stores you tried? Did you try them in the city, esp. Saks and Bloomies-they have more and more high end stuff in the city than on the island.
Also, if you walk up Madison Avenue and 5th Avenue, you'll find something for sure.

Does anyone know how much it would be to have a simple black dress made? That would be ideal but I am not sure where to go or how much that would cost.
I will definitely hit 5th avenue this weekend. I have tried the dept stores in the city but I guess I should hit them again.
UGHH why is it that you always see things when you dont need them and then when you need it...it is know where to be found.

There is an ABS store I think in Glen Cove & I found a dress there when I wasn't having any luck anywhere else. Good luck!

Madison Ave, the East Village (try the wedding gown designer at Blue, I believe she does formal dresses too, and her styles are simple and elegant-you can look it up on anywho.com I'm sure. I think she's on 1st or 2nd ave now, but I can't recall. Also try giving Selia Yang a call. Another bridal designer in the east village who does beautiful formals but they run about $1000 I think).
Hmmm where else....I'm not sure. I don't know how formal it needs to be but Banana Republic has a lot of things in stock in black dresses now.
