HELP....my cats ears are bald and scabby...

I am so uspet right now.....the other day I noticed that my cats ears were getting bald. My husband said I was being crazy. But I really noticed it......then wondered if she ever had fur on her ears?
Well tonight, she has scabs on her ears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so upset. Does anyone know what this might be? I looked it up on google and 'ear mites' came up; but that's not it.....I researched it more carefully.
Its NOT ear mites.
DOes anyone know or have an idea of what this might be? I'm really upset right now.

I would suggest taking your cat to the vet. It could just be an allergy or it could be something more.

i was going to post the same thing. might be an allergy and she's itching herself, but best thing would be to take her to the vet.

My cat has the same thing!!!!!
The other girls are right. It's an allergy. There is good news and bad news with this

The good news is that there is medicine to treat it. You just put some of the cream on the inside and outside of the ears and rub it in for a few seconds. After about a week, the scabs will heal and the hair will start to grow back

The bad news is that you need monitor it for the rest of her life. Unfortunately the allergy will not go away and will need subsequent treatment.

Good Luck!

Hope she feels better

thanks girls! THis makes me feel a bit better. We took her to the vet today....they immediately ruled out mites. THey are culturing her skin for fungus, which takes a few weeks, and they gave us ointment to put on it so she doesn't itch.
THey also gave us antibiotic to give her....but we're going to wait a few days to start it b/c she is still shaking from going to the vet and she's been tortured enough for now.....
She'll be okay.
