Hey '09er's thought maybe you could help some of us 2010'ers with our guests lists...
Original post by soontobecruz
So sadly it seems that more and more people are coming in under their minimum and getting more No's than they'd hoped for. With the bad economy and the expense of traveling for OOT'ers this is completely understandable.
However I was hoping you wouldn't mind giving us 2010'ers an idea of a precentage of how many 'No's' is the average now. Of course this is going to be affected by the number on your entire guest list. But a rough estimate would really help.
THANKS....

My current count is approx. 38% of the total in so far...I still have a week till the deadline with 73 still outstanding (64 in actually since I have verbals on 6 people, just not the cards). After all is said and done I anticipate being at the 50% mark...we had 76 OOT.

We invited 175 guests and 130 showed up for our wedding. We have to guarantee at least 125 ppl so it worked out fine.

We invited a little over 300 people with our B list and came in under our minimum of 235 with about 215. When all was said and done with our no shows we had about 205 there.
Frustrating, yes... but Lands End said this has been a common problem all year and worked with us a little bit. Its absolutely related to the economy. DH's own uncles didn't come because of the cost of staying on LI, they are his uncles!!!!!

We invited around 215 and had 175 there... most of the no's were bc we invited everyone with a guest and a lot of people didn't bring one. (good for us! )

Ours was exactly 20%
The advice I would give though, is to not give your final payment and count until the week of the wedding.....
No joke, we got married on a Saturday, and the weekend before leading into the Tuesday before we had like 6 cancellations.
Things happen-travel issues, people are sick, relationships break up, etc etc.
We did our final payment the Tuesday night at 7 before the wedding.
