hey everyone I need some helpp---

Original post by MrsS4

Hello everyone,

My name is Chrissy & im a little new to both the site & wedding planning-- I may be planning a little early but I truly want to be prepared for my big day!!!

I want to know about how much my wedding will run us as well as a little help with finding a hall... I truly had my heart set on Oheka Castle, however my father I believe will only give 50k so as I have estimated-- 20k site fee & 250$ per head will already have me way above and beyond the 50k just for the hall-- I have no problem spending more then 50k on the wedding-- I am almost positive it will be over 70k however I am now looking for a different hall-- I really do not want another wedding to take place during mine-- I do however like the was Leonards looks & the food and rooms are just beautiful-- I have not yet priced it-- but we are looking to have less then 200 people. Does anyone know another hall that resembles either Oheka or Leonards on Long Island---

Thank you soo muchh--

Chrissy

Oheka does looks amazing but was out of my price range too. You may want to look at new hyde park inn...they just renovated it and added an enormous ballroom and it was spectacular. Go see it in person. Also have u heard of coindre hall or something? Has anyone heard of it? Looks very nice in pics and has a castley look. Also I am getting married at Giorgio's...outside is a little plain but inside is really beautiful. U need to see it in person!

Hi, I'm getting married at Leonard's...I fell totally in love with it as soon as I walked in! They have excellent prices, but I have to warn you they have multiple events at a time. Since you want yours to be the only event, I would not recommend it for you.

I also looked at the North Ritz Club, it's really nice and they have really nice grounds. I think it's definitely in your price range and they only cater to one affair at a time. Also, Marina DelRey is gorgeous and has a similar look to Leonards...not sure how many events at a time though.

Good luck!!

Floral Terrace might be up your alley...the food is excellent and it's beautiful. It would be great for a large wedding, the price is reasonable too. The things I didn't like about it were that I didn't like the ceremony area (not important if you're getting married in a church), it was too big for my wedding (we're having about 100), and there weren't any outdoor areas.

It's really unique--it's an old theater and VERY elegant.

Oh--and Floral Terrace is 1 even at a time and owned by the same people who own the Sand Castle.

I would say try the Glen Cove Mansion or de Seversky. Both seem to fit what you are looking for.

I got married at the Royalton - it's a restored Victorian mansion - everything is brand new but made to look old... fireplaces, bedrooms, mahogany rooms ,etc. There's a bridal suite where you can get ready - it's a master bedroom that also allows you to stay over that night

Have you considered a vineyard? Raphael Vineyard comes to mind.

I was also set on a hall that only had one wedding at a time, but I was not set on a Saturday night so we were able to afford Oheka on an off day.

Other places I liked were the Royalton, Carltun on the Park, and Carlyle on the Green.

Good luck!
