hey everyone I need some helpp---

Hello everyone,

My name is Chrissy & im a little new to both the site & wedding planning-- I may be planning a little early but I truly want to be prepared for my big day!!!

I want to know about how much my wedding will run us as well as a little help with finding a hall... I truly had my heart set on Oheka Castle, however my father I believe will only give 50k so as I have estimated-- 20k site fee & 250$ per head will already have me way above and beyond the 50k just for the hall-- I have no problem spending more then 50k on the wedding-- I am almost positive it will be over 70k however I am now looking for a different hall-- I really do not want another wedding to take place during mine-- I do however like the was Leonards looks & the food and rooms are just beautiful-- I have not yet priced it-- but we are looking to have less then 200 people. Does anyone know another hall that resembles either Oheka or Leonards on Long Island---

Thank you soo muchh--

Maybe try Bourne Mansion, theres alot of places that only hold one wedding at a time....that was my big thing! you should pick up a 'Sites and Sevices' mag it shows most of the locations around long island. That should help.

They really are! I went to Smithtown Landings and it was beautiful and the price was sooo amazing! Unfortunately it was too small for us. I really wanted to look at Bourne Mansion but FH REFUSES to pay a site fee....
It worked out in the end...Im booked at Flowerfields which is where I had always dreamed to have it!!!

i absolutely LOOVED jericho terrace...they of course dont have the grounds that oheka has, and there MAY be more than one wedding going on...but it's absolutely gorgous...the whole decor is just so elegant & the food is just INCREDIBLE. my wedding was over a year ago & people still talk about it. good luck!

wow-- that was quick-- thank you guys sooo much!!! Okay so I briefly checked out all of the ideas listed-- & i really think that all of the Lessings properties are too house looking--I really dont like any of them for my wedding-- I looked at flowerfields and that didnt impress me either--- I looked at Jericho Terrace and that came a little closer to my expectations--- thank you everyone--- does anyone else know, first hand where a good would be-- either if you had your wedding there or were a guest-- thanks again----

to reiterate i loved Oheka-- but paying at least 50k just on the hall is really a waste of money-- I also like Leonards as well however I am not so happy about the multi-events going on--- any suggestions where else to consider---

Thanks- have a great day everyone

What about the Glen Cove Mansion? I know its a 'house' but its gorgeous and it would make for some amazing pics! Also, not sure if you're willing to travel but in Westchester there's Castle on the Hudson which i also heard is gorgeous, but I believe holds weddings on the smaller side. Also you should look into the Woodlands, gorgeous grounds and rooms

You cannot beat Russo's on the Bay. The service and food is impeccable and their rooms, lobbies and bathrooms are gorgeous. Mr. Russo goes to every wedding, event to make sure everything is perfect., you get 11 entree selections and the cocktail and viennese hours are amazing. Give them a call and go check it out.

We booked the Milleridge Cottage. We are having just under 200 guests. Check it out and see if you like it. One wedding at a time and the building is beautiful. Let me know what you think. Good luck!

We booked Giorgios at Fox hill. It is absolutely beautiful! They just recently renovated the room. Besides the food being amazing, they only have one wedding at a time. They offer so much food that there isnt even a need for any add ons and the price is reasonable. Good Luck with your hall hunt!!

if you're willing to go a little outside of LI the Tarrytown House in Tarryton is a castle and is gorgeous.
it is not far from LI at all.
i'm not sure about the prices but i was staying at the hotel when there was a wedding and it was set up so amazingly...
the wedding was on the other side, but i could see it through our window.

How about Marina Del Rey? It's in the bronx, but literally the first exit over the throgs neck bridge. the place is gorgeous, the views are great and the food is amazing!!!

I second the bourne mansion. Also have you considered getting married on an off day or off season? Oheka will work on pricing just so you know!! Good Luck you wont go wrong with whatever you choose!

thank you everyone so much for the help-- I think I like the sand castle as well-- all of the other choices are not really what im looking for-- i really think both the bourne mansion and the glen cove mansion arent for me-- not so sound pessimistic but they really didnt impress me for my wedding.... Jericho terrace was okayy-- i just want something with that 'umph' lol

I dont want something that either looks like a house, or school or a building. I obviously love the way Oheka looks-- who doesnt... has anyone had their wedding ther? how much did it run you? Also I think Leonards is beautiful as well anyone have thir wedding there?-- the Sand Castle is growning on me as well -- but their photo gallery isnt the best-- does have pictures? I really want to take pictures outside of the hall-- so no hotel type reception, any more ideas everyone?

thank you all sooo much!

So from what I'm reading, you want one wedding at a time and a place with a little glitz. Try Lombardi's on the Sound or the North Ritz Club.

If you really love Oheka why not consider doing a Thursday or Sunday night wedding? I know their site fee and pp prices fluctuate with the season and day of the week.
