Hey teachers.......it's almost time...

Original post by MrsD71208

The summer is coming to an end....how do you feel about that? Oddly enough, I miss work. I mean, I LOVE staying home and hanging with my DH and puppy, but since I'm home ALL I do is clean lol I'm a clean freak and find stuff to do....I feel like I'm getting TOO comfortable just lounging around. It's time to get back into the swing of things, although I KNOW that after a month or so I'll be ready for a break LOL

I don't know if it is the same in all schools, but I'm certified to teach 7-12 (English) and my HS is a Junior/Senior HS that goes from grades 7-12. This year I'm teaching 7th grade and 10th grade.....what is your scheduele like?

I do NOT want to go back! I usually work the summer and this is the first time I took off!! The money is so great when I work.. so I feel SLIGHTLY guilty.. but I am having such a great time being off!!

\
Me too! This was the first time in three years that I didn't work the summer....although the money is great, I didn't miss going in at the crack of dawn lol

We just moved into our new place.. and we wanted to do a bunch of renovations.. we bought tons of new things and I feel guilty like the summer school $$$ would have paid for a lot of it.. but I LOVE being off!!! I don't know if I can go back to working the summer!! I'm spoiled now

I guess I should really get to Lakeshore this week and get a head start. For you HS teachers, are there any good stores to shopt at, for HS teachers who want to decorate their bulletin boards? Most stores have kid stuff that doesn't work with teenagers. TIA

I don't teach HS, but I decided last year that I would do ALL of my shopping online, and it was great!! I didn't have to wait on a single line all summer!!!! The shipping costs were well worth the lack of stress and aggravation - AND I knew I'd be getting EXACTLY what I wanted, not what was in stock!!!

Try classroom direct; I'm pretty sure it's just classroomdirect.com, but I'd try googling it.

my dh is a teacher but this year he's the librarian 'media specialist' so I think he's looking more forward to this year than others LOL! He's also really nervous. But more excited, I think, he'll be doing more of what he wants and no grading papers!

LUCKY! I always found grading papers and exams exciting, but wish I could pay to have someone else do it for me now LOL

I know! I have to be up at 5:30...that's so early! I wake up now at 7 to give my puppy food and let her use the bathroom,so at least I've been getting up this early. Ugh, I wish school started at 9!lol
