We picked a sunday because of cost, thinking about daytime. not sure exactly yet. I am not sure if I would be too rushed if I have it early. We want to have the ceremony at the same place as the reception

i am also having the ceremony at the same place as the reception, i really like it that way. no traveling .i am having mine on a sat. evening( got a great price) my wedding is at 7 (hopefully around sunset), immediately following at 7:30 is cocktail hour and at 8:30-12:30 is the reception. you shoudl go get a liweddings magazine, they have all pictures of all the places you can have your wedding, thats how i found mine, or you could look on this website. have you looked or seen any you liked yet? i was so surprised jsut how quickly places book up for summer, i got the last sat. for june 2006, i only jsut got engaged, and to think i thought i was looking at places too soon..haha

yea, you can give her small responsibilites, my best friend is a little closer to me and she is taking most of the responsibilities, but i am giving my sister small ones to make her feel involved

FH said that there wil always be a weekend available. Most of the places have been booked for 2 years already.

i know, i was kidding around with my fh, i was like, ' what were we supposed to do, book a place before we were engaged?' haha i am jsut happy, there were so many signs to pick this place and one of them was that i wanted june 17th and it happened to be the only available date for june. talk about luck. my first choice was the crescent beach club and they were booked the whole month of june, i didnt want to wait tiol the end of july to have it.

Just to answer a few of your questions... I live in Staten Island, and my reception is in Nassau. I have family coming from all over Jersey, Brooklyn, SI, LI... you name it!! Even a few flying in from Italy. No matter where you have it people will come.

About your budget, it all depends on how many people you plan on inviting. I guaranteed 200 people, so my reception hall alone is close to $20,000. Not to scare you off, but it depends on they type of wedding you want to have. Fridays & Sundays generally run cheeper, as well as off months such as Nov-April. I can tell you the place Im having my reception (Leonards.. which is in Nassau, by the way).. they can accomodate your needs and budget.

As for picking a MOH.. I'd go with both your sister & your best friend, this way no one gets hurt or insulted. My FI is doing it that way.. even though I have one MOH-my best friend. Please e-mail me with any questions you may have. Wedding planning is so much fun..

Hi Welcome and Congratulations!

To answer some of your questions. I was in the same boat worrying about my guests traveling. I live in suff and FH lives in nass. The majority of our guests will be coming from Nass. We fell in love with our hall so we booked it. But you have to do what makes you and your FH happy.
I don't think its too early to start looking or even order your gown. Some manufacturers
take awhile to come in. Once you try on the gown that you know will be the one you won't want any other. Good luck and happy planning!!!
