I just got engaged over the holidays on the beach in the Grand Cayman! FH and I are in Med + Dental school in CT and we will be getting married on LI a few weeks after graduation (I'm from Northport).
We have a date/church/reception location, but since I'm living in CT right now I'll definately need A LOT of help in choosing the best LI vendors.
I actually have a question already...how did you ask your bridesmaids to be a part of your special day?

CONGRATS! I haven't asked my MOH yet, but i was thinking of getting her a shirt that says 'Maid of Honor on it along with a card. I've seen a couple of people do that

some girls make homemade cards...some do it around xmas and give them ornaments....

congrats and welcome! i just personally asked mine, i didnt do anything fancy. but at the e-party im planning on handing the whole bridal party the t-shirts that say 'bridesmaid' and 'maid of honor' along with probably pictures of me and them when we were all really little in a card thanking them for being part of the party

i put together little gift bags for them.. i made a photo album of pix of all of us with a poem in the end asking them to be my BM/MOH. also had a snowflake ornament since i'm doing a snowflake theme, ring pop lol and a bunch of other little things. they loved it!!

I made them all cards with really cute poems, each of them were personalized inside. I gave the girls little dress cookies asking them and then the guys we have tux cookies made up...then my girls I have them monogramed makeup bags and my MOH I gave her a monogramed compact mirror.
They loved them all and the cookies were delish!!!

When I asked my girls I made them gift boxes with 52 ideas for bridesmaids cards, an I'm a Bridesmaid make-up bag, stationary with their name, bridal tissues and little personal treats. They all cried

I have my girls tee shirts that said Maid Of Honor -09 or Bridesmaid 09..... and Aunt kristen's Flower girl march 21, 09 hehe
For my maid of honor I also bought her a picture frame that I told her was for a pic of us from the wedding and in it I wrote a Will You Be My Maid Of Honor Poem and put it in there....
It was sooo much fun!

We're having a very small casual affair with just my sister as MOH and his friend as BM. We both just asked them personally.
