My name is Lauren and I just got engaged on Saturday I'm so excited. We are definitely planning to get married in Aug but we obv don't have a venue yet so the date is up in the air. My FH is going to be transferred to Dallas with his job the beginning of Sept. I'm really looking forward to getting to know everyone!I'm a little overwhelmed so I'll prob have lots of q's

Hi all! - Long Island Weddings
Welcome and Congratulations!!!
the site is great and everyone is wondeful, we are all there to help each other, vent to and cheer on.
Good luck in your quest to find vendors. I know you are in a time crunch but try to enjoy the process, it even helps limit the stress a bit too.

Thanks girls- I am planning to go tomorrow and check out a few places with my mom. I want to go to East Wind, Watermill and Windows on the Lake. Anyone have any experience with those venues? UGH I just feel so behind in everything
Definitely check out East Wind - our wedding was AMAZING! We had the best night of our lives and everyone is still raving about the food and drinks!

Hi all! - Long Island Weddings
Congrats! I'm definitely in a similar boat, I just booked my venue and now have 6 months to plan everything so it's nice to know I'm not alone! I visited East Wind and it was very nice. I believe they still had dates open for August as well. Like others said, I would call any potential venues first and ask if they have any dates available in August. I knew I wanted to get married this year so that's how I started and that limited my list to only those with a Saturday left in Fall 2014 to start doing visits. Good luck!
