Hi Girls...

Original post by coldasice217

Hey everyone...

I'm back from my few days of mourning. I just want to thank everyone for being so supportive in this awful time for me and my family, by sending your thoughts and prayers via the board, FM, facebook, email, everything. Those who did, it really means a lot to me.

I'm still in a really bad place though...but I have to start getting back to my normal routine because sitting around here crying isn't going to do anything. I just wasn't ready for it...it happened too fast. I still needed his comfort and warmth. It wasn't supposed to happen this way...he was supposed to take pictures with me in my wedding dress, and be there to nuzzle my first baby.

I know I'm supposed to be an adult, but right now, I just feel like a little girl who misses her cat

Luckily, FH has been really great. Even though Angel caused him such suffering the past few years as the allergies developed and worsened, he was just as bad as I was, and cried with me all night. He never took it out on him or blamed him for it. He said he would try everything in his power to comfort me as much as Angel was able to and would take that over from him, but not to let him get chubby and to not give in if he starts begging for too many treats Oddly enough, the thought of FH sitting by the cabinet staring up and meowing for a treat comforted me.

So I just want to say thank you again for all your support, I know that some people were wondering what was going on, but I just needed some time to snap out of it a bit. It's going to take a long time, and it's no where near there yet, but knowing that people care helps a lot. You girls are awesome

So glad to see you back on here, Ali. I know that losing a pet is one of the hardest things we will ever have to go through ... but luckily it means that we had a wonderful pet who we loved so wholly that it destroyed us when they were gone. I know that sounds weird ... I guess what I am trying to say is something along the lines of that old adage, 'tis better to have loved and lost than never have loved at all.'

Feel better ...

sorry you had to lose him. my dog passed away 2 septembers ago and up until then i never realized how bad it hurt to loose a pet. it was terrible. i had to take two days off of work cuz i just couldnt stop crying. it hurt so bad.

you'll feel better soon. promise. then its all the good memories will still be there without so much saddness. i still cant talk about pet loss for too long without getting choked up though

feel better.
