I also say $200 a plate b/c alot of people I know were telling me I cant get married for much cheaper then that at a nice hall. and I dont want to get married someplace cheesy.

They're VERY wrong.

You have LOTS of choices.

Thank you Princess Rose.

well if that is the case that I an get married in a nice place for less that would be so great! I was wondering how people afforded weddings! maybe you are all rich or something
sorry im very new at this. we also have to find out if my mom and dad and his parents will help us. If they dont then we can probably only afford maybe 100 a plate or less. Is that crazy? I dont want our guests to think we are cheap.

Who cares???
Your wedding should be a reflection of you and your FH. Why put yourselves in debt so people don't think youre cheap? Wouldn't you rather have extra money leftover to maybe buy a house or something rather than being completely broke? JMO

JPD you are right. Its just that my fiances family is italian and everyone talks about everyone else and all his family is spending a lot on their weddings and i want our to be just as nice. his parents are giving us a house when we are married so we do not need to save for one but i know what you mean.
I dont get what JMO means???
Well I decided that incase we pay for the wedding on our own we cant spend more then 100 each plate. and I would like to get married outside.

Congrats!! There are a ton of places!! Glen Island Harbour Club is modern and elegant. As is the North Ritz, the Fountainhead and many many more places.

are you looking for nassau, western sufolk, or eastern suffolk?

If you do get financial help and cand spend closer to the $200, you should check out The Crescent. I suppose I'm biased since I'm getting married there, but it's beautiful. It's right on the water and they do only one wedding at a time.
If you need to keep it around $100, there are still tons of options. I live in Westchester so I don't know all of the halls in LI, but the girls on here will be much better at stearing you the right direction.

thank you for your help! that place looks very beautiful but I am looking for something more modern. We like russos on the bay but my friend went there and they wanted 200 p/p and so many weddings going on at once.
For that money I think I can do better.

Is there SOMETHING WRONG witH RUsso's with your COMMENT I can do better

Re: Hi - Im new!

does the cresent have a website of pictures? I think I've heard of it.

And no there is nothing wrong with russos I even said my fiance likes it, its just for 200 a plate i think there is nice halls, ones that dont look like a factory on the outside and dont have alot of weddings at once. but as you guys say that is jmo.

Congratulations & Welcome!

As far as the above, you can get married at a beautiful hall for MUCH less! Majority of the ladies on this board are planning gorgeous weddings at great halls for less than half that.

But if you have that high of a budget, you really won't be limited at all. Just remember, that beside the pp price, you have MANY vendors you will have to pay also...it adds up QUICKLY!!!

Good Luck!
