I am not sure if i want high centerpieces anymore....when i went to Flowerfield i saw high ones set up and i think it takes away from the whole look of the table...i want an elegant , romantic look i think smaller ones might be better? what do you girls think? what do you think looks best in flowerfield? if possible can you post pictures of centerpieces from flowerfield...thank you!

Personally I think low centepieces are a waste b/c they completely get lost in the table. I have seen many of them and only one stood out in my opinion and that was because it was a cinderella carriage.
Hmm, I think saying they are a 'waste' is probably not the best way to phrase your point since so many of us are doing them because we love the look etc. I have seen plenty that stand out and sometimes they can be very original. Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I personally think that sounded too harsh.
I am sorry you feel that way I don't think that I sounded harsh at all I was just stating my opinion as everyone else was. If you took it to offense than I apologize but this is JMO. Like I said I have only seen one stand out. There are lots of things already on the tables like napkins, glasses, etc.... which i think takes away from low centerpieces!

As a guest at weddings, I like low becasue the high ones
1. can block view of person across from you and 2. Are often missed because they are so high above eye level. For pictures they are great, but I feel like the little details are much more appreciated in a smaller one.
JMO. Whatever you do i am sure will look great!

We did low and I LOVED it - here's some pics (plenty more in albums I think)
I LOVE the pinspot lighting at lovin' oven - you can really see it in this pic! Your room looked gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!
ETA: Of course you and your husband looked gorgeous too!

I was thinking the low centerpieces for Flowerfield too...but FH has had very little interest in the planning, however...he really wants high centerpieces...I found these pics and I like it...so I have given in.
I definatley think low centerpieces would look better in that room from the pictures i see here

I really like the high centerpieces..I think they look really neat, but I don't think they work well in all situations..for example our RH has low ceilings and doesn't have a very 'open' feel to it, and we are having rectangular tables...so for us, low centerpieces workout best...we'll be having a few go down the center of the table..probably a mixture of flowers and candles.

I prefer low CP's. I have been to many weddings with high cp's and it's difficult to see across the table.
I agree. it makes talking difficult...

No problems! I totally understood what you meant, it was just the word 'waste' that I felt was probably not the best word.

Thanks very much, we loved how everything looked and felt. I wasn't really into some huge centerpiece overpowering the room (and trust me, I LOVED those big tree centerpieces at first), my goal was to create a really warm feeling with candlelight and warm tones, and we were able to do just that with the help of Flowerfield's pinlights and the flowers and candles from Lovin Oven Florals.

At Flowerfield, I prefer the low ones, only bc the toulle from the ceiling is swooping down, so I wanted the low flowers so that the guests don't have to look up to see them. It is a matter of opinion, but I think for Flowerfield, the low ones are nice.
I agree, I have been to FF and the low look nicer in that room

I prefer low centerpieces. I don't like to look through/around something to talk to another person. If you go to the florist see how each would look. Double check the ceiling height though, you don't want it to look too small.
Good Luck,

I like the low....sometimes CPS are a good convo starter, and its right there in front of you. I think the whole issue with the tulle being draped in flowerfield is def something to consider...so i vote for low!

I love low and high centerpieces, but I think in FF's room the low looks better bc of the low ceiling. If you are really torn do a combo btw the both and give the room some depth, that would look good as well. HTH

Originally I loved high but at Miller Place inn the ceiling is a little low so I didn't want things to feel claustrophobic!

I went back and forth with this too and it is a big regret of mine that we do not do a mix of half high and half low centerpieces - I know someone who got married there and although I was not there she had high centerpieces and they looked great

Re: High vs Low centerpiece...
I think you need to look at how high the ceiling is and how big the room is..... I am getting married at Lombardi's on the Sound and it will be a high ceiling and pretty regal looking, so I went with the high CPs.

Honestly I love high - but it all depends on your room . I am getting married at the WM which has low ceilings and very long oval tables - low just works better in that room. But rooms with high ceilings and round tables work with high center pieces

I had high centerpieces. I personally do not like the look of the low I feel like they get lost on the table. JMO Here are pictures from FF..
I like a low centerpiece. So that everyone can see it but also so the guests can socialize.

Re: High vs Low centerpiece...
I gotta have low cuz my ceilings aren't all that high...but even so, I'd still go with low anyway. Not only cuz I prefer them (I like something simpler), they are MUCH cheaper!

I had low because I wanted candles only with just some rose pedals around them. I loved my centerpieces cause that is what I wanted!!! It is really a matter of personal preference your style and what you want your room to look like!!!
