Original post by wifey08

I am not sure if i want high centerpieces anymore....when i went to Flowerfield i saw high ones set up and i think it takes away from the whole look of the table...i want an elegant , romantic look i think smaller ones might be better? what do you girls think? what do you think looks best in flowerfield? if possible can you post pictures of centerpieces from flowerfield...thank you!

I haven't been to flowerfield...yet, going to a wedding in August.
I chose to do a mix of high and low. I love high but I know they can be conversation hinders and not too mention costly. By mixing it up, I saved money. I plan to strategically place the low ones at the tables of people who will tend to stay put most of the night (i.e. won't be up on the dance floor all night).

I would personally stay away from high CP's unless they are so high that when sitting down, you can stiill see through them easily-no thick wide vases.

I have gone to far too many weddings where the poor bride had to watch as CP after cP was taken off the table and relegated to a corner of the room on the floor because people couldnt see around them and it was annoying. L

OR, the cps will stay at the table but all people will do is complain all night and it will be the only thing they will remember. Weddings are about getting togetehr, not staring at an ornate planter. Low ones are just better for the tables, but if you love the look of high arrangements, maybe order one or two to place aroudn the room, like at the ends of the sweetheart table, or as you come in, etc.

I love the look of a high centerpiece, but I hate not being able to see people at a table. My mom gave a very important piece of advice, place your elbow on a table, your centerpiece should be no higher than your hand, that's as high as your eye can see.

I'll admit I had my heart set on high CPs because of the high ceilings. But now I'm thinking of going with low and lots of candles.

I generally prefer high cps. I went to a wedding with long oval tables and the low centerpieces took up too much of the table. I was sitting in the middle of the table right in front of it and the arrangement was practically in my plate and there was no place to put my camera, etc.
Just something to consider.

We did low and I LOVED it - here's some pics (plenty more in albums I think)

Love the color scheme of your wedding. I am also having the same colors only that my MOH might be wearing brown (we fell in love with this brown dress) and my Bm will be wearing Burnt orange or vice/versa. But anyway who makes the dresses your BM's are wearing? Is it Jessica McClintock?
