Hiring a Bridal Planner

Original post by SoontobeMrsMc

Hi Everyone!
I've pretty much done all of the major planning. We picked place, date, save the dates, wedding gown, bridesmaid dresses, etc... We have some stuff left but most of the big stuff is complete.

I don't need a planner for the actual planning process but was considering hiring one recommended by a friend, for the day of the wedding. She is supposed to be there for all wedding day situations (to remove all possible stress from the bride and groom). Has anyone used one and if so, do you think they are worth the money?

Thank you

Re: Hiring a Bridal Planner

I am a professional event planner and definitely encourage brides to hire a DOC on their day if they don't have somone delegated to setting things up or if one is not included in their reception package.

The point is to have someone relieve you of stress. There are a million things running around your head, the least of which should be, 'Did someone scatter the rose petals on the tables?' or 'Did I forget to bring the guestbook?' I know that I am someone who lives for those little details. I personally wouldn't be satsified unless I knew someone shared my vision down to the T. The 'little things' that bother brides on their big day can easily be avoided, and the point is that the guest should never know about those 'little things.'

I hope I don't sound like an ad, but this is my job. I am a Special Events coordinator for a national non-proft and own my own firm called All in the Details Even if you just have a quick question, feel free to FM me

Re: Hiring a Bridal Planner

Thank you everyone for all of your help. I'm definitely going to look into a few of them. I have a few crazy family members and I think I might need someone to handle things on that day (or I might lose my mind). And it would be nice to have someone taking care of all (if any) little things that go wrong. I'm HORRIBLE at confrontation and dealing with stress- I melt. I'm gonna look into some of your suggestions. Thank you again!!!

Re: Hiring a Bridal Planner

I didn't have a DOC but I've heard great things about Laura at LA Productions.

Go to the top of the page and click 'Search'. Then you can just type in LA Productions and select the Bride's Review board. It'll bring up a bunch of threads and you can read what past brides have thought after they've used her!!

ETA: Here you go, I did it for you!!
