As much as I want a 10 day vacation in Fiji or Tahiti, that isn't happening. We were going to go to Puerto Rico and still might, but may do California or Vegas instead. Anyone go on a 'local' HM? (Meaning in the continental U.S)
Thanks

Re: HM in the U.S?
My girlfriend is doing the Alaska cruise from Seattle. It was way cheaper than I expected!

Re: HM in the U.S?
We drove up the East Coast to Bar Harbor Maine. It was so incredibly beautiful!! We stayed at a hotel right on the marina and woke up every morning to the sound of the seagulls and crashing waves. The food up there was INCREDIBLE. My DH gained 5 lbs while we were away. Bar Harbor is right outside of Acadia National Park. A gorgeous place! You think you'd get bored after a few days wandering around a park, but we wish we had more days to spend there and were both SO sad to leave!
On the way back home, we stopped in Kennebunkport, Maine to stretch our legs and found it to be a quaint little town with lots of great shops and amazing clam chowder!! We also got to see the Bush's house (from a distance, of course).
Then it was off to Newport Rhode Island. We spent two nights there in a Bed and Breakfast, and toured about five of the mansions. Newport also has great shopping, awesome restaurants, and if you're into the bar scene, a pretty decent night life. Hubby and I don't drink, so I can't really tell you what the bars were like...
So believe it or not, our New England honeymoon was very romantic and a lot of fun!!! We both miss it terribly and want to go back SOON. And with the money we saved by not flying, we were able to stay in very nice places, especially the B&B, which we normally would NOT have been able to afford.
I thought about taking a trip to CA and visiting the wineries, then driving down the coast. Hawaii won us over, but if we were going to stay on the mainland I would have definitely gone to CA!

We are flying into L.A., taking a 4 dau cruise to Catalina and Ensenada (carnival fun ship Ecstasy), then spending 3 days in L.A. It is not too much money.

we did th same as kmcwed, it was a great trip. we rode bikes all over Martha's Vineyard, went to cape cod to a bed and breakfast, went whale watching in Bar harbor. It was something I always wanted to do, we had just come back from school in Florida so I wanted something different than sand. As an irish catholic, we peeked in and took pics on the kennedy compound. lol inexpensive trip and stress free.
