hm issues...

So fH and I went to see a TA today because we are so indecisive and wanted feedback.
So we are thinking about this:

NY to Aruba- 4 nights all inlcusive at the Westin

Aruba-Jamaica- 8 nights all inclusive at Couples Negril

then home!
all for around 7k= all flights, hotels and all inclu

Thoughts???

Thanks for listening!

Re: hm issues...

I think it sounds great! Honestly, a HM should be everything you guys want it to be...

I see tons of girls on here that are going on excursions while they're on their HM, and while that may be amazing and exciting for them, my FH and I have no desire to do anything but enjoy some R&R and some seclusion!

It's really all about your preferences and what you envision for yourselves.

Either way, I'm sure you guys will have an awesome time !!

I think that sounds great. You have to do the things you and your FH love to do. But those places sound amazing.

Neither of us have been to many islands, so we wanted to see a couple and have the nightlife and gambling in Aruba and have the R & R in Jamaica!

Thanks for your input girls!! I was also concerned if the price seemed on point.

Re: hm issues...

I gotta be honest with you, I don't know...FH is the money manager (aka Budget Nazi ) when it comes to the wedding planning...but for 11 days (right?) it seems alright.

The only thing I would recommend is seeing if it is at all possible to cut out the TA. He/she is the middleman, so by going thru a TA, you're never really getting the 'best' price, because, after all, they need to make $$$ off you, otherwise they'd be outta business.

I'm ashamed to have had absolutely ZERO involvement in the HM planning, but I know that FH did it all on his own (online).

Just see if that's possible...I'm sure that will save you some $$$.

The only thing I dont know how to do (well) is mulit destination trips.. Like leaving from Aruba to get to Jamaica back home...
If you or FH have any thoughts on how I can do this, please share it would be much appreciated.

I'll def ask him...I'm not 100% sure though, because we're staying in Playa Del Carmen the entire time....but all I know is everything he did, he did online.

Id also cut out the TA. really no point to it.
Im going to spain, italy and greece and i did it all myself online. and for those islands you can def do it on your own. save some cash

Re: hm issues...

I think you can find that for the Westin vaca for less IMO. I am not doing all inclusive but I am going to Bali and Lombok for 9 nights and it is less than that.

The 8 night in Jamaica/Aruba sounds on point.

FH and I use cheapcaribbean.com for all of our vacations. When we were in Cabo in August, one of the couples we met had our exact itinerary (though they had one less day there) and they paid $500 more than we did. You can get amazing pricing with that website.

I'm wondering if they can do it for you if you call. It's worth a shot.

My parents go to Aruba once a year (I have never been) and love it. I want to go there for my honeymoon. They have told me time and time again that they would suggest not doing all inclusive because the food is pretty inexpensive and so many of the restaurants have so much to offer and that I might miss out of all of that by going all inclusive. Just a thought.

Hey - Im a travel agent myself and have been a ton of places - For my HM we are doing vegas for a mini-moon then Aruba next April -

Aruba is my fav place!

If you wanna try and save a little $$$ - don't do an all-inclusive there - honestly, you don't need it! There are a ton of great restaurants on the island!

we're going to Aruba too and we're torn on this. we've heard the same thing about not doing all-inclusive becuase of the good local restaurants that are priced well, but me and FH like to drink (not to excessive or anything) but a bottle of wine with dinner, margaritas by the pool etc. so we kinda think it might be worth while but like i said we keep going back and forth
