Go to Hawaii - but make sure you go to Maui. We're going to Hawaii and everyone says Maui is the best.

what about Europe like Spain, France, Italy etc . the flight leaves late at night around 7-11pm which means you get in early in the morning.You fly back in the afternoon getting in New York at night 5-9pm
Hotels you can do priceline using biddingfortravel for price guides. I plan on going to Spain which is cheap to fly and it is nice weather esp in Oct

Well if your heart is really set on Mexico, I think I would wait it out a bit...plus they CDC is projecting having a vaccine for the swine flu in as early as 4 months! But nothing is definite! Good luck! Sorry you have to bother with this now.

Maybe I'm being overly optimistic since I'm going to Mexico on my honeymoon and not changing it, but I think by November everything has to have died down. And if I was meant to get the swine flu, then I feel lucky to be coming back to America to be treated where I know I won't die!

Update- thanks for all of your responses! We ended up not booking the cheap flights to Hawaii :( but are still in the process of deciding... Hawaii, Mexico, Bahamas, etc. I'd LOVE the Greek Islands but it will be alot cooler in December than we'd like!
