Hmmmmm.....HONEY MOON QUESTION!!!!

When do you usually book your honeymoon??? I have not even given this too much thought because of all the planning for everything else not to mention the expense. Is it possible to make installments on the honeymoon thru a travel agency....PLEASE ADVICE!!!!

We just booked ours through GoAheadTours.....they were very helpful and accomodating. Check them out!

We booked ours pretty last minute - mid-August for our mid-Oct wedding. Just got back last night - it was great!!! We went to Aruba - Loved it!

We took our honeymoon 2 months after our wedding since we got married in May and I'm a teacher. It made the wedding/honeymoon planning MUCH easier since we only had one event to worry about. We booked our honeymoon to Hong Kong and Thailand about 6 months ahead of time. We had to pay the airfare upfront as well as a deposit on hotels. We paid the remaining balance 2 months prior to our trip. We worked with a travel agent.

I think the sooner you book the better to get cheaper flights. Those prices are always changing. With my TA I just had to leave a deposit and have to pay the rest later.

Right now you can't book Jet Blue because they haven't opened up the schedule. If you are looking for Delta or United or one of those, you can book now.

Aruba is good for August

What travel agency are you working with?
I need something where we can leave a deposit and pay installments or pay later

we booked with liberty travel and only had to pay a deposit and will pay the rest at the hotel. Also, if you book on jetblue they offer installments now (which we have done) We booked ours in Aug for our march wedding but the places we wanted to stay in only had 15-26 rooms and we wanted to be sure we got the ones we wanted

i booked my honeymoon about 10 months out. i typically always book travel myself but used a travel agent for the HM and got way better rates and upgrades. I also only had to put down a deposit and the balance is due 45 days prior.

this may be a dumb question, but is it more expensive to go through a travel agent? rather than booking something ourselves online? do they take a profit from our vacation price?

hmmmm GREAT Question... I am not sure about that, I have never used a travel agency, always booked my travels on my own

It probably depends on the travel agent and where you're going. Right now we're looking into our HM options, and have been pricing a few things out. When I look to book the same hotel/room myself and the flights, the travel agent is saving us a ton of money! It all depends on where you're going and the deals they can get there though. Some places are probably cheaper to do on your own.
