While the boards seem a lil slow I thought I would post to see what your favorite holiday traditions are with your immediate family and which of those traditions do you want to continue with FH and your future children
Also, any new traditions that you and FH are going to create together for your family?
I LOVE THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS AND I CANNOT WAIT TO DECORATE!

Re: Holiday Traditions
This makes me sad ......this is my first holiday season without my parents close. They just moved to FL in July and so no Thanksgiving with the family and Xmas is still up in the air.
I do have FH family to go to but it just wont be the same.

I just moved up here and my whole family is in MD. I made my fh swear that all holidays will be in MD as part of me moving there. Things might change in the future, but that's how it will be now.

My moms side of the family.. ( the italian, and very big and loud side) has a huge christmas eve party every year and we all get one gift from 'Santa' that we can open. I love it. I want to continue that with our kids.
I have a big Italian family also and we do the same thing. Plllllus we eat some sort of fish on Christmas eve

I am the youngest of eight kids and every Christmas morning we had to wait till everyone was awake before we can go downstairs to see our presents under the tree (well really scattered around the living room, with everyone having thier own pile of gifts). My dad waited downstairs and video taped each one of us coming down in age order, so its nice to watch the video and see how everyone changed each year. Coming down in moms arms as a baby, then crawling down, then walking down etc. This is a tradition I def want to keep with my kids. I LOVEEEE Christmas!! And there are so many other traditions but this one sticks out the most
OMG, Kathy we did the same thing.

Re: Holiday Traditions
On Christmas Eve we always get cold cuts, potato and macaroni salads, olives, pickles, chips and dips, just a whole bunch of deli food. We also open one stocking stuffer. I like that tradition, but I'm sure it won't get carried on unless we go to my parents.
