So amongst other things of course, we want a place that at night we could dance. Like I know on mnay islands they call their little club a 'disco'. That's what we want. To be able to dance and stay up till late if we want and drink.
We also want the place to be 'honeymoon or adults oriented' which is I think part of the reason why we are having a little bit of a hard time finding a place that has both of these qualities.
Right now, we have kind of narrowed down our search to Jamaica or Mexico, but not Montego Bay or the immediately hotel zone in Cancun.
We were close to booking Excellence Playa Mujeres but I just posted and it seems like their disco/club thing is not much of anything, like noone goes.
Definitelty check it out. It's a couples only resort so you won't have little kids running around. We stayed at Couples Swept Away and they have a few bars there that are open late and have DJs. I feel like the majority of people that stay there are in their 20's/30's, but there are some older couples that go as well. Also best part is it's all-inclusive so you can stay up and drink as late as you want and as much as you want and don't have to worry about keeping your wallet on you

Edit: link didn't work.
That's where we're going on our honeymoon. We used a great travel agent (I can FM you his info if you want) and we're spending 4 night at Sans Souci and 6 nights at Swept Away. Every single review on Trip Advisor is great and the TA himself said he's been to the resort numerous times. You get so much for your money there. We're staying in a suit in both hotels and we're spending a lot less than if we were going to St. Lucia or Mexico. If you want more info FM me

Re: Honemoon help Mexico and Jamaica.
My FSIL just went on her honeymoon to Jamaica and stayed at a Sandalls. They said it was AWESOME and not too expensive. They were SUPPOSED to go to Rivera Maya but the Swine Flu broke out and they changed it.
HTH!

Re: Honemoon help Mexico and Jamaica.
I've been to both Sandals in Jamaica (Whitehouse and Montego Bay) and all-inclusives in Mexico (Iberostar in Riviera Maya). I always feel like the night life on the resorts isn't that great. They all had some kind of dance club or night spot at the resort, but most nights they were semi-empty or emptied out pretty early. It depended on the day of the week sometimes too.
We did go off the resort on some bar crawl at Riviera Maya (I think it was in Playa Del Carmen), and that was packed.

Re: Honemoon help Mexico and Jamaica.
I'd recommend the Royal in Playa del Carmen. The resort is beyond romantic, adults-only, and Playa del Carmen has a ton of fun clubs that you can (safely) walk to from the resort. It's my favorite place to go in the Mayan Riviera. You can also split your time between the Royal in Cancun if you want more of a crazy spring break club atmosphere, the clubs in Playa are more upscale (but sooo fun, some are outside where you can dance all night on the beach under the moonlight). FM me if you want more info.
