Im having second thoughts about having a Sunday wedding. We are getting married at the RH so the church issue isn't the problem. My RH and photographer are booked already but I'm starting to have 2nd thoughts about people coming from out of town that will be inconvienced by taking off Monday from work and the local guests that will be annoyed coming to a sunday wedding.
My FH and I originally decided to get married on Jan 2 the day after New Years which happens to be a Sunday so that most of his family could come up from puerto rico for new years and spend a little time in New York between christmas and the wedding. The wedding will be over by 9pm so that most of our local guests can get home and go to work the next day. I'm also starting to worry about vendors...are salons actually open on sundays esp over the holidays? and I heard most florists don't deliver on sundays? Any brides out there with the same issues or concerns? And What do you guys honestly think as a guest, going to a Sunday wedding from 3-9pm??
Thanks!

Re: Honest Opinion- Sunday Wedding
DO NOT even worry about this, you'll have an amazing wedding and all will be fine. I've been to so many sunday weddings and never had a problem. And ending at 9pm people will be fine, ive been to many that ended at midnight and we had no issues.

I don't think a Sunday wedding is a bad idea. I've been to tons of Sunday weddings. They are usually 2-8pm. Yours is only an hour difference.

DON'T worry! I am having my wedding on a Sunday in November and there is no holiday around mine. People will come and have fun at your wedding and the day of, you won't even notice you will be floating on cloud nine. As for vendors, as long as you book the florist they will be able to do it. just check around and you will find someone that will deliver flowers on a sunday i haven't had any problems and i've been contacting florists left and right. Don't stress, its wedding planning time!!

If your RH and photogs are already booked, just keep it on that day. You can get someone to come to a hotel or your house for makeup and hair and florists that do weddings will certainly deliver on a Sunday. It's your wedding so I think you shouldn't inconvenience yourself trying to make everyone happy. It's not that inconvenient to have a Sunday evening wedding. If it's over by 9, it's enough time to go home and go to bed.

Don't worry about it. You should not have a problem with florist's not deliving on Sunday's as far as salons mine is closed on Sundays but are opening up for me and the bridal party. I am sure if you find someone you want to use they will do it for you even though it is on a Sunday. Don't stress about it.

I just went to a Sunday night wedding.
Yeah, I was tired the next day, but I didn't care. I had a blast. I only care about what the couple wants because I feel honored that they want to share their special day with me

Like the other girls said, do not worry! I had a Sunday wedding (which ended at 11pm) and not a single person complained about it. If people are that inconvenienced by it, then they have the choice not to come. Simple as that! Don't plan your day around anyone but you and your FH!

I never heard of any florist not delivering flowers on a Sunday. I have been to a million Sunday weddings- Im actually getting married on a sunday and no one has given us any issues. Plus my reception starts at 630 and ends at 12- so you are fine! Dont stress, just do what makes you and Fh happy!!

Re: Honest Opinion- Sunday Wedding
well remember that wedding florists deliver for sunday weddings all the time. Remember advice youre getting is about general business not weddings. Also yes some salons are closed but many people hire a wedding make up artist and wedding hair stylist that comes to your house and they do many sunday weddings.

Try not to worry to much. This is what save the dates are for. People who want to attend your wedding will and they won't think twice about it. Most vendors, will work any day of the week that you plan a wedding, as long as they are getting paid and they know that weekdays and sunday's are becoming more popular for weddings.
Don't sweat it - plenty of people have sunday weddings. They will take off the next day if they have to...

my wedding was a sunday, it was fine! don't stress..
I had the same concerns as you, mine was over at 10 and I thought everyone would leave early, especially because my hall was a bit of a hike for half my guests... I'd say less than 10 people left early! I was pleasantly surprised.. As a pp said, people who leave early will leave early regardless of when your wedding is.
Do what YOU want!

Re: Honest Opinion- Sunday Wedding
I would be pretty psyched to go to a wedding the Sunday after New Years. I am always so depressed after the holidays, its a great way to keep the festivities going just a little longer.
I also do not think 9pm is late at all for a wedding to end!
