I love pickups and am wearing a pickup dress...but I think the pickup BM dress will take away from your dress. I would go with a simple a-line, so your dress stands out even more. :)

SOOOOO yes they are a fad, yes in 10 years you will say 'what was I thinking' but is that something you can deal with? If so then go for it, I like the dress not the color
I totally agree with your MIL - I think the pick-ups is something that people will look back on and be like what was I thinking?! Haha.
As for the OP, I do think the pick-ups look nice on dresses I've seen, but I'm not really a fan for myself or for my BMs. Also, my friend was in a bridal party where they had pick-ups, I believe the dress was by Bill Levkoff, and she said the dress was actually annoying because the pick-ups would not stay and tore very easily.
The different color bottom on this dress does throw it off a little. I remember seeing a dress like that in a bridal store, and my friend and I first thought the dress was on a stand with like a table cloth or something across it, and when we got closer, we realized that bottom part was part of the dress! So up close, we didn't really like it much.

its pretty but it may compete with your dress because it has a lot going on...
i would prefer a straighter line or no pickups....or a tea length bm dress.
i prefer the bm wear a shorter dress if the bride wears a longer dress, but that's JMO!!

I picked the same BM dress as you! I only have an MOH so I want her in pick ups b/c my dress is pickups.

Sorry, I also agree. Not a fan of pick-ups and I wouldn't be too happy if a bride asked me to wear (and pay for) a dress with pick-ups. JMHO.

personally it is a little much for a BM dress- definitely cannot re-wear it. I had to wear a similar one and it is just gonna go in the garbage. JMO

I like it, I wore something close to that last year in my MOH's wedding...but we didn't have a different color on the bottom...I Don't know if I'm crazy about the different colors.

i want a bm dress that is two tone, whether its a sash or a different color train of some sort. i have girls of all different sizes so i dont want something thats very form fitting either, want to cover hips and thighs
as for re-wearing it...i've never been able to re-wear a dress i wore for a wedding so im not worried about that

I like the color and the dress but personally not my style. I would never wear it or make my BM's wear it, but think it may look okay on some. Did you ask your BM's what their opinion was since they are the ones who have to put it on?

I actually like pickups, and I like the contrast at the hem of the dress. I say if you and your BM's like it, then I think you have your answer! I think its a very pretty dress. JMO

I like pickups on a wedding gown, but don't love them on a BM dress (especially if the bride's dress has pickups).
I also think there is a lot going on, and prefer when BM dresses are more simple.
But it is a pretty dress, and if you love it, and your BMs like it, then that is all that truly matters.

I have worn a similar dress as a BM and to be honest the gathered bottom was a little annoying b/c as soon as someone steps on the dress, the bustle falls out & it loses its affect...sorry
