Honestly BTDT Moms

I bought some Dreft yesterday to start getting some stuff ready and nearly passed out in the store when I saw the price! Do you think that it is possible between diapers, formula, and now detergent to retire eventually with savings?!?

The amount of diapers you go through is going to knock your SOCKS off. We went through FOURTEEN yesterday. Sometimes, it's 4 diapers through one changing. Every time she gets buckled in all fresh and covered with Balmex, she smiles at me and shakes her legs , and sure enough....MORE POOPIE!!!

I use the Dreft cause I love the smell. But I have read one too many places that it's not necessary. I am sure after the first couple of weeks, you can go with regular detergent, but I am hooked on the Dreft. And you'll go through it, but not as fast as you might think. I bought the big bottle before she was born, and I JUST finished that bottle off last week. and we do a LOT of laundry around here....

Buy it at Sams, BJs or Costco. You will definitely use lot of pampers. Especially, in the beginning.

If you don't have cards for them. I found Babies R' Us to be cheaper then supermarkets or drugstores

Nick's clothes are still washed seperately with baby detergent.

Here's my dirty little secret... I don't wash his new clothes before he wears them.

Jenn SO SO SO FUNNY!!!! I totally did that yesterday - I was like - aw Jeez, this thing isn't washed......oh whatever, all ripping off the tags - well she is still here today to tell the story!

In 8 months I've only used 2 bottles of Baby All and I just opened a bottle of Dreft that I bought months ago. This will probably be the last bottle of baby detergent that I buy. I love the smell, so it's worth it to me! I have a front load washer, and don't use much at all. I use maybe 1/8 of a cup for each load. I will probably do all of our clothes in All 'clear and free' or something similar later on.

I've never seen Baby All......does it smell good?

I do was the baby's clothes seperately with Baby All. I wash our clothes with Free Clear All. I've always used the regular All, so when I saw these, I just switched.

I bought Dreft once (actually I think my Mom bought it) after that I saw Baby All and used that. I stopped with it around 5 months maybe and also stopped washing Luke's stuff on it's own. He became part of the Family Laundry. I was washing all our clothes in All Free or All Clear (I forget the name)

I didn't have my baby yet but I bought Baby All for the clothes. I also heard that we aren't supposed to use any kind of fabric softener on the clothes,right?

i got my dreft from costco for $14 for a huge one. Baby All and Dreft are the same price in my BRU.

NO fabric softener should be used. It will ruin the flame retarded stuff on the PJs.

No baby here yet, but I do plan to use Dreft or Baby All for a few months at least. If the baby has as sensitive skin as its parents I may need to do it longer.

I totally wondered about that too! If everyone *really* washes absolutely everything before baby wears it. I mean I plan to, but heck... if something slips through does it really matter? I heard people even wash the bumpers before baby uses them, I would've NEVER thought to do that.

Not all the PJ's are flame retardent...unless the tag specifically says flame retardent, you can assume they are not.

I washed Paul's clothes separately in Dreft for the first 9 mos. Now, his stuff is washed with ours in Purex Free and Clear.
