I am pretty upset. I have decent skin - or at least I used to TIL NOW.
I had acne years ago in my 20s, we are talking 12 years ago ... I went on Accutane and ever since my skin is pretty darn good. My cheeks are always clear. UNTIL NOW.
About 3 weeks ago I was at Houstons for dinner and all of a sudden my cheeks felt weird, I went to the bathroom and I had red broken out cheeks. So much so that it looked like I spread bright red blush all over them .... I didn't end up going out after dinner that night I looked so bad.
The next day it seemed ok so I wasn't too worried. Just figured it was some weird food thing.
Fast forward til now ..... the rash never really went away and now I have new blemishes. My cheeks are totally broken out.
I cannot figure it out. The only new thing is new Bare Escentuals stuff I bought ... so I have stopped using the stuff.
But why after 12 years of clear skin am I breaking out 57 days before my freaking wedding???? I am so bummed. I am a freaking zit-face.

make an appointment to see a dermatologist ASAP
Maybe you are having an allergic reaction or maybe you just need an antibiotic. Tell them it's an emergency so they don't give you an appt 3 weeks from now.

Thanks, I think you are right. However since I am a student going to the doc is such a hassle as I need to go to student health first get a referral then a doc etc etc. Ugh. Hope it goes away, if not I will see a doc in a few weeks.

go to the dermatologist. The bare minerals could have clogged your pores or something. Are you using a different face wash? Shampoo? Lotion? Detergent? Makeup brush? perfume? Anything that else that is different?
it could be stress and the humidity...

Could be acne rosacea....'Those afflicted with rosacea may first notice a tendency to flush or blush easily. The condition can occur over a long period of time and often progresses to a persistent redness, pimples and visible blood vessels in the center of the face that can eventually involve the cheeks, forehead, chin and nose.'

my sister has rosacea, but I don't think it happened all of a sudden like yours seems to have happened. It was more gradual.

i have bad skin too - one of the ladies on NW board recommended tea tree oil - i just got it yesterday so im using facewash, cream and ointment - we will see how it goes

I went to the derm a few days ago to complain about my skin and he decided to keep me on prascion (sulfer based lotion) and he sprayed my face with that stuff they use to freeze warts. He sprayed it all over and blasted my problem areas. I want to say it's Nitrogen but that might not be it.
Already my skin appears calm and it's clearing up a little

ME TOO!!! but my wedding is in 1month!!!! the side of my face is I dont know what to do.. its too late for me to go to a derm.. what if i get allergic reactions to the med they give me and my skin is very sensitive I TOTALLY feel you

The Murray Hill Medical Group is great. They are on the east side. Google them. They have a few dermatologists on staff.

Oh try not to stress. You probrobly are stressed and that is causing the breakouts. Call your doc or cermatologist and tell them you need appt. asap because of the wedding. Everything will be great !!

Sorry to hear about this, but it probably has to do with STRESS and also the weather lately. This humidity is not good for the skin. Go to the derm ASAP, and they will help you out.....

I always break out from stress and I was so worried I would turn into a pizza face before the wedding.
I tried this stuff from clarins an 07er suggested and it is awesome. It clears out your pores without drying your skin. I have very sensative skin and can't use most skin care products.
ETA.. also exfoliating works for me

Thanks, I definitely don't think it's acne per se as I was blasted with accutane 12 years ago and my skin was flawless until 3 weeks ago, it's very rashy ... ugh ...... gotta go to the derm .... Thanks for the advice everyone. I also ordered a whole bunch of Biologique Recherche and Jurlique products hopefully will help. Crap.
