yeah but if you put it off until 'later' chances are you'll never end up going on a trip like that b/c then it'll be something else. you're honeymoon is supposed to be very memorable so I say do it up as much as you'd like. besides, the difference btwn a 10k HM and another one wouldn't make much of a dent when it comes to buying a house...wouldn't even cover closing cost...JMO

Who said I was putting it off until later? LoL I got over that whole vacation idea... I'm sure its beautiful, but rather spend my money other ways... And 10k towards a house is better than nothing isnt it? Perosnally, I really dont see the big deal in a HM .... its just another vacation to us (only longer than we'd normally go) ... We've feel like we've been married for years now... We dont look at things that way 'well its all or nothing' kinda thing just because its a wedding

we were going to go to one of the sandals resorts b/c they are having a 40% off sale. but b/c we dont want to go for more then 5 days (we have FH's son on the weekends) so we are going to Universal in Florida. neither of us have ever been yay

Universal is so much fun! You guys will love it!

exactly how i feel! im not knockin what people do... its just not something I would do... people spend their money diff ways... i'm sur e theres some people that feel that going on vacations is a waste of money b/c you have nothing to show for it... besides a nice tan of course!

no clue at all. I'm a teacher but I think I can swing a week long vacation after the wedding but I dont want to spend a ton.

i cant even afford to go on a vacation now with all the saving we're doing for the wedding, so i know after the wedding i wont be able to go with all the $ spent towards it

to me a honeymoon is just another vacation as well.........weve been on vacations together before, so taking one right after the wedding isnt that big of a deal, esp. when we wont have the $ to do it lol....just have to wait until we do have the $

Since our wedding is a sunday and we have to wait til the following week for our caribean cruise, we are going to disney for a week and then a cruise for another week. i think im more excited for the vacation!!!

I didn't mean that you personally were putting it off til later...I was speaking in general. If it is someones dream vacation but they choose not to go for the HM b/c it is too expensive right now, I am sure they would still want to go someday.
Sure the HM is 'just another vacation' but I personally want it to be a very nice one. After all the stress from planning a wedding for 2 years I want some serious R&R in a place that I can really enjoy. And of course 10k towards a house is better than nothing. What I meant by 'wouldn't put a dent into buying a house' was that going on the less expensive or more expensive HM really would change much in your ability to buy a home...it would come out to about a $30 difference in your mortgage payment.
But like I said before JMO.

Our friends just got back from Thailand and talked it up a storm so now I am thinking that perhaps we can go there for our honeymoon.

Otherwise, I was thinking south of France or some type of Mediterranean cruise.

right now we're planning on going to rome for 5 days then hopefully the cruise will depart around the date we need and we're hoping to take a 12 night cruise from rome to the rest of italy and monaco. it looks amazing!

FH and I haven't figured this one out yet. Hopefully, if we can afford one, we'd like to go somewhere nice and warm like maybe the Bahamas. I am a teacher also but I just graduated so at that point, I will (hopefully) be at a fairly new job. So, we plan to wait for a break such as spring break or the summer to go since our wedding is in March. I would really love to have a honeymoon. The only vaca I've ever really been on is to Florida with FH's family a few times which I loved. However, we drove, and I've never been on a plane. Maybe the HM will be my first time!
