Honeymoon

So, we really wanna go to Antigua but after pricing it we don't know if we can. We are paying for our wedding ourselves plus we need to get an apartment close to the wedding. So, I was looking into some cheaper options with a travel agent and she suggested a few all-inclusives .
Has anyone stayed @
Excellence Playa Mujeres or Secrets Maroma?

Have you considered a cruise? One that includes Antigua as a port?

Sandals is currently running a promotion for up to 65% off of all rooms. I know they have at least one, possibily two resorts in Antigua. FH and I booked through them for St. Lucia and got a great deal that we definitely couldn't afford without that promotion!

Honeymoon

How about trying the palace resorts in Mexico...I stayed at Moon Palace (which is a family resort...They have other resorts that are just for couples) with my boyfriend last January and it was the most amazing, beautiful, friendliest, fun, amazing trip ever!!!! All the rooms have jacuzzi's in them...and all the rooms are gorgeous, they also have a promotion that if you stay for at least 5 days you get a $1500 credit that you could use towards almost anything like massages or a room upgrade...Me and my boyfriend had a booked a standard room and with the room upgrade got the concierge level honeymoon suite with the view of the ocean, it was incredible!!!! I highly recommend the palace resorts, they will treat you like royalty!!! :)

Re: Honeymoon

I stayed at the Excellence in Riviera Maya for 10 days on our honeymoon. I LOVED our resort and so did DH. The resort has 10 bars, 8 restaurants and 10 pools. They have an activity pool, a lazy river pool, a relaxing pool, and other lounge like pools. The rooms are BEAUTIFUL! Fully stacked bar filled with full bottle liquores, water, soda, chips, m&m, snickers bar. Restocked daily. Unlimited room service, turn down service.

They have tons of activities to do. Swimming with dolphins, parasailing, ATV's, cruises, shopping, clubs, discos.

We flew with Jetblue out of JFK a little over 3 hours. THe hotel greets you with champagne and a warm wet cloth. They let you tour the resort as you wait for your room. You can get something to drink or eat if you have to wait.

They have nightly entertainment between musical shows, to fire shows, to comedy shows.

It's all adult resort which was GREAT! They offer spa discounts which was the BEST spa we have ever, ever been to. We also did a romantic night on the beach and did at sunset. We had a private waiter. 3 course meal, and our waiter surprised us with dessert that said 'Happy Honeymoon'.

The staff is so happy there to make your stay enjoyable.

I can't rave about this place enough. We had a beautiful, wonderful time and so sad to have it gone away. We were away for 10 days so we missed Thanksgiving at home but they had a HUGEEEEEE feast and party for everyone. The decor and decorations were absolutely beautiful.

We paid $4,000 including airfare, 10 day stay, and insurance. Very worth it. We booked it on expedia.com and earned points which will be used for this year's vacation. FM me if you have any other questions.
