Honeymoon a few weeks later?

Anyone NOT leaving for their honeymoon right away?

We're looking to leave 2 weeks after our wedding. My friend was like how she personally hates that; cause then it doesn't feel like a honeymoon-I think it's only 2 weeks; we'll have that extra time to run around and get last minute things during that time. I know this was asked once before on here...just trying to see how many other people are doing this too-especially if you're getting married in off seasons; and want to honeymoon w/out the risk of hurricanes/bad weather.

our wedding was the 17 and we left the 28th. we did a crusie and the one left the day after and i was NOT going to do that, and plus we had family syaing a few extra days so it was nice to get together with them while they were in town.

we're holding off on our honeymoon... i'm stressed out as it is trying to plan a wedding - i love the fact that we can plan our honeymoon when we don't have as many other things going on.

as far as having it 'feel' like a honeymoon... i guess it's all in your state of mind. plan it like a honeymoon, talk about it like a honeymoon, and when you're on it, it will BE a honeymoon and FEEL like a honeymoon! :)

we leave 10 days later because I am a teacher and have to wait for spring break

We are getting married on Saturday, and we don't leave until Thursday evening

I'm getting married in May and then not leaving for our honeymoon until the end of July. I'm a teacher and have to wait for obvious reasons! I didn't want to get married in the summer; FH and I both got too hot!!

yup, same as some others, I'm a teacher and have to wait until July even though we're getting married memorial day weekend!

Thanks ladies! We're still going ahead with the honeymoon 2 weeks AFTER the wedding. Just was having second thoughts from my friends comment! even if we were leaving TWO MONTHS after; it's still our honeymoon!

Same...We are leaving a week later. It'll just give me time to pack for us and get things that we need instead of rushing and getting thinkg ready for the wedding and the HM it'll be crazyy

We got married in late June. Went on a HM in late September. Were super relaxed because the time in between allowed up to move in together, get my cat situated with his two cats, and just enjoy being married without having to rush off somewhere.

Honestly, I would not have changed a thing. I can't imagine having gone away knowing that I'd come back to moving boxes and furniture, and unhappy cats, etc. etc. Made for a much more relaxing vaycay!

We are going to leave a few days after the wedding so we have time to get everything together...I think waiting is a good choice and its something to look forward to after the wedding
