Anyone NOT leaving for their honeymoon right away?
We're looking to leave 2 weeks after our wedding. My friend was like how she personally hates that; cause then it doesn't feel like a honeymoon-I think it's only 2 weeks; we'll have that extra time to run around and get last minute things during that time. I know this was asked once before on here...just trying to see how many other people are doing this too-especially if you're getting married in off seasons; and want to honeymoon w/out the risk of hurricanes/bad weather.

We are. We are not leaving for a little more than 4 months. I did feel like (at first) i wanted to leave right away- but what we want to do only runs from jan-march so we did not have much of a choice unless we wanted to change our destination. Since we are getting married in the summer anyway- we figured a local few days somewhere after the wedding will sitll be nice weather and then when its cold here we will go away again :)

We are having a minimoon that leaves 1 week after the wedding and then our real honeymoon is 3-4 months after the wedding. things just worked out this way and I am actually happy. I don't mind going on the mini moon 1 week after because I feel like I will have time to relax and pack and it won't be as crazy for me. HTH :)

we went on our HM about a month after the wedding ... it felt like a very long month because we were so excited to go, but we were happy we did it that way.
We didn't want to have to plan the last minute things for the wedding AND pack for our HM (and plan our excursions and whatnot)
ultimately, we were happy we waited

we're taking a mini-moon immediately after just to get away, but our REAL honeymoon is happening 2 months later!

We waited a week or so - mostly because one of my best friends was getting married the weekend after me, but it really was the best thing for us. We barely had time to plan the HM during the last weeks before the wedding, let alone pack and clean up the apt.
I think it's a lot less common to fly off for your HM the morning after the wedding, although many still do it successfully. There was just no way for us!

I'm also thinking it will help to have that extra week in between to focus on what needs to be packed instead of trying to do last minute wedding stuff and honeymoon things at the same time!

We didn't leave for our HM till almost 2 months afterward and it was planned that way! To be honest I could NOT leave right away. I just feel like there would have been too many things hanging. I wanted to be home for a little bit, decompress, pack properly, etc.

um, two weeks after your wedding IS right after your wedding. I hate when people put their two cents in and make you double think the most ridiculous things!!!!

We're leaving 2 months after the wedding because the weather will be better in Australia..

We havent even booked a HM and if we do take one its now looking like it wont be till the fall rather then the summer as we planed

we aren't leaving till a few weeks later as well... it's just easier for us with work plus we don't want to be stressed out planning everything at once.

We are leaving 3 days after the wedding. We felt there was no need to rush.

we are getting married on june 12th and the Cruise we fell in love with that was sailin through Europe wasn't leaving until the 19th, a little over a week later. it totally blew and i was against it the whole time, but now that is getting closer, i've accepted it and now i'm looking forward to have a few days in between to pack and get everything together before we go.

We wait 4 months, went on a minimoon to the Hamptons right after the wedding and went to Thailand a few months later. Could not have been happier with that decision!

wedding is feb.
honeymoon is June.
For 2 reasons: We wanted warm weather in Europe I'm still in Grad school til May so I couldn't just leave for a month
