Honeymoon Budgets

Please only post if you are comfortable sharing.

What is your total honeymoon budget and where are you going and for how long?

FH and I are meeting with a travel agent tonight and I really need to narrow down where we want to go and really have a realistic idea of what we can/should spend.

Re: Honeymoon Budgets

i can tell ya how much we spent!

About $4400 for 8 days / 7 nights at Couples Ocho Rios, all inclusive. (The price was a little higher than it normally would be cause we were vacationing @ the end of Feb/early March and that is when prices for the Caribbean happen to be more expensive)

I think while we were there, we might have spent about $1500 in shopping, tours, and souvenirs. (mind you that includes the cost of the gorgeous diamond Movado watch that my DH bought me.)

we spent a total of $4900 for our alaskan cruise, which included air, cruise, hotel in Seattle, excursions, and some extras. It was so worth it and relatively cheap for honeymoon prices.

P.S. we booked in 2005, I'm sure prices have gone up since then.

Re: Honeymoon Budgets

We're hoping for under $5k.

Nothing is definite but we're prob going away for 5 days after the wedding, prob to Vegas. Then in May a cruise in the Greek Isles. Most of the money will be spent on the cruise and airfare.

To me it's way more money than we should spend but definetely worth it. It's a once in a lifetime experience :)

Cruises are a great way to go to save money. There are a lot of boats that leave from NY that aren't too expensive.

You should figure out how much you can spend BEFORE you go to the TA's office, as everyone's budget is different.

We are spending 2 weeks in Italy - Our airfare alone was over $2,000... We haven't chosen our hotels / tours yet, but it will add up!

Re: Honeymoon Budgets

We booked Sandals Antigua for about $5200 for 6 nights. We did this at the end of March for our October 29th departure.
FH and I tend to spend a little more on our vacations.

This resort has 9 categories of rooms, so there is something in everyone's price range.

Happy shopping !

Luckily FH's mom is handling that for us b/c with us paying for the entire wedding alone only using cash we might have had to settle. We're looking into Mediterranean cruises right now but I refuse to look at the prices...LOL

Yes, try to figure out a budget first. We are going to New Zealand and Australia for 3 weeks and our total airfare alone came out to $4500.

about $5000 for Hawaii. We are going to Maui and the Big Island, Hawaii for 10 days. This price does not include dinner and excursions.

Thats an amazing price, we were originally thinking the same thing but when we saw that airfare was about 1500 each we changed our minds.

How'd you get that price?

Re: Honeymoon Budgets

right now my honeymoon budget is about 3k b/c i am paying for it myself and i no longer have a 'real' job.
My fiance pays all the bills and my parents are paying for the wedding so i thought i should pony up some bucks too.
we're hoping to do Disney for a few days as well as a few days in Jamaica. I've gotten really good quotes so far, and including airfare but not including taxes i'm looking at around $3200

Our HM budget was WAAAAY less than what we're actually spending, but we are doing what we really want! We're going to Hawaii, 5 nights on Maui and 7 nights on Kauai. Our total before excursions and dinners is $8500.

Re: Honeymoon Budgets

We're spending much more than we would like to and than we initially planned, but we're getting the exact kind of HM we want. Secluded, romantic, beautiful beaches, no big hotel, not going for nightlife. Want to lay on the beach all day and just spend time together at night. 7 nights, Caneel Bay Resort in St. John, USVI, w/ airfare, insurance, not all inclusive but beachfront property. $5757.40 Yea, Im kinda freaking.

We haven't decided what we are going to do. I'm thinking of possibly a mediteranean cruise visiting some cities in europe. We were also thinking of some AIs. I'd rather travel to a city to be honest. We are hoping to spend $5K but hearing what others are spending it will be a stretch.

Re: Honeymoon Budgets

Our HM was 7 days in Mexico.
Our budget was 6000, and after the flight and room was booked, we had money left over for activities... We spent 4000 on the flight and room, and then 2000 on activities... We swam with dolphins, went ATVing, 1 day sail, bought, art and jewelry etc.
We figured that would be better than doing 7 days in Europe and not being able to spend any money on the trip.

7 days, 6 nights Sandals Ocho Rios in Jamaica with airfare approximately $3300. Sandals was running a 50% off deal.

Re: Honeymoon Budgets

we spent about $3300 on 8 days/7 nights in Aruba at the Bucuti Beach Resort. that included airfare and hotel with breakfast daily. we wanted to do all inclusive but it was about $2k more and we most definitely werent going to eat $2k worth of food! and this way we were able to enjoy all of the great restaurants on the island instead of just eating at the hotel every night.

Pics of our room and view in my album. Loved it!!!!
