The wedding's over, but I still need your advice ladies!
So DH and I are going to be honeymooning in Alaska in May. Because of work, we are limited to only two very specific weeks in May...no flexibility on the dates.
We originally wanted to do a cruisetour with Holland America (1/2 cruise, 1/2 land tour). And we both finally got our vacation requests approved this week. We contacted Travel Tom to book the cruisetour and it's FULL! In a matter of a week (they were having a sale)
So Travel Tom presented us with a few options. We could try to find another cruisetour with Holland America leaving on the same date. But we didn't really love the destinations the other one went to (from the description, it just sounded like a lot of fishing cities)
OR...we could go with Princess cruises, which i hear is also very nice. Travel Tom can get us some deals for upgraded rooms and free dinners if we book with our Amex card. So at the end, this one would be cheaper.
BUT...we loved the onboard activities on Holland America...we both love to cook and we love that they offer cooking classes/shows on board.
does anyone have any opinions as to which we should go with? Holland America, we'd be sailing on the Zaandam....with princess, we'd be on the Diamond or the Coral Princess. (we've never used either one of these cruise lines so we have no idea what they're like)

Re: Honeymoon dilemna...need some opinions please!
Ive been on the princess but it was their new one the crown princess which is one of the biggest ships(not the biggest but close behind) i absolutely loved it. The crown princess had cooking classes/mixology/ dance classes/they had a theater with shows every night and tons more activities. Hmmmm not sure about the other 2 princess ships what they offer.
If you liked the activities on holland america better then go with that and also depending on their excursions.

well destinations is a big thing too. Like i said theres alot to do on the princess ships. Maybe call them up and ask them about their classes bc they don't have it listed on the site. FH and i didnt do any of the classes, we were busy gambling and drinking haha..but his family did alot of them. His bro and bro's gf did a mixology class, they went to a wine tasting class, his mom went to dance classes everyday and towards the end they had a dance contest and his mom won it lol they did this whole show and the ppl picked who they wanted. I am really trying to think of other classes they had but i cant remember exactly but everyday i know there were also lots of them throughout the day.

i did the princess cruise to alaska and this was one of the best vacations ever. the excursions are incredible, we did hicking, white water rafting, and took the helicopter ride to see the glaciers!
Absolutely amazing!!!
