Honeymoon Ideas?

Honeymoon Ideas?

I wanted to go to St. Lucia, but I think it'll be too expensive. We are on a budget, and we're only going to go somewhere for a week, so I'm very picky about where to go. I want to go somewhere that's on the beach, perhaps some part of the Caribbean, that isn't crowded and that has good fishing spots also because he likes to fish. Any ideas? I wish money weren't an issue because then we could just go to Tahiti.

if you have your heart set on tahiti, you should look into a cruise. we are doing a 10-day south pacific cruise and staying in tahiti 2 nights before hand. it is so much cheaper than doing tahiti by land.

good luck!!!!

Ummm, I really can't do Tahiti, whether land or cruise. For six or seven nights, I really can't afford to spend more than $1500 per person. Which is why I wish I could NOT do a wedding and just elope and go on an expensive honeymoon.

What about Key West, its not an island but it has gorgeous sunsets (romance) nice beaches (tanning) and lots of fishing!
You can also get alot of good deals for airfare if you fly to miami and then rent a convertible and drive down to the Keys!
It worth looking into.
I dont really know much about the islands..but what about bahamas or even Jamica ..good luck!

Another idea....Try vrbo.com. A co worker of mine just rented a villa in Italy this past summer for 2 weeks and it was I think 1800 for the week. You could rent a condo somewhere for alot less than a hotel!

ETA, My coworker said the villa they had was the most beautiful place and it was exactly what the website had described!

You should still check out Sandals St. Lucia anyway. I got a quote for 10 days for about $5,800 but i'm sure for just a week it'll be cheaper and it's all inclusive.

I have the perfect place for you! Check out Zihuatanejo Mexico! It's a wonderful place on the West Coast of Mexico- about 1 1/2 hours away from Houston, TX. That's where we went- and we only went for a week. It has an amazing beach- we spent EVERY meal on the beach- and it's very inexpensive.

The hotel we were in was all suites- only 6 of them- and no children- and it was only $199/night!

And Zihuatanejo is famous for it's sport fishing.. we went fishing/snorkling for about 6 hours with our own boat captain on our own boat for $70 that's it!

Here's some pics.

Re: Honeymoon Ideas?

I loved it there.... we went during the busy time too and there were HARDLY any crowds- it was SO amazing. AND no problems getting sick from water or anything else..

Edited to say- we spent about $1400 on airfare (continental is one of the few airlines that flies there) and about $1350 on the hotel)... for spending $ we spent around $500... because the food is pretty inexpensive... the average meal was $25-30. The most expensive meal was $50

They also do massages ON THE BEACH- $10 for AN HOUR!

The hotel we stayed at Villa Carolina was great- the pool was right outside our door- and it's owned by an Italian guy from Ohio
