How much did you guys save up for the honeymoon. I'm trying to get an idea of how much is average for a honeymoon. I guess it does depend on the location. I'm thinking about Hawaii. My Girlfriend said she spent 6000 for two weeks doing a lot of adventurous things like hiking up a volcanoe and off road site seeing. By the way, that was with the military discount. But I guess she deserved a nice honeymoon since they saved a lot by having a small scale wedding.

Re: Honeymoon in Hawaii
We are going for 12 days. We are staying at the Hyatt in Maui and Kauai, both are 4 star hotels (some brochures say 5 star, either way it's supposed to be very nice on both islands), and 1 night at a hotel called Outrigger on Oahu. All that plus airfare is $a bit under $6K. We are going in May - I that that is a low period but not sure. If you wanted to go but don't want to spend that amount of $, you can do just 1 or 2 islands, or do 10 days, or stay at a hotel that is not as much as the Hyatt. However do keep in mind some hotels give you free breakfast ($30-$40 saving a day). We are also going to be island hopping 2 times - that is $100 each time for each of us. Plus dinners, plus all the touristy things - although I am really only interested right now in doing the Luau in Maui (Lahaini I think it's called) and the sunrise at the top of the volcano thing. We are getting a car included in the price of the hotels so we will do alot of our own sight seeing. On Oahu we will be doing the USS Arizona tour. I think with all those things, we'll end up spending $8500 total. We're just saving as much as we can. I think we put in about $1500 a week or so between the two of us into our bank account. We've been saving since January. I'm a bit nervous we won't be able to afford it all but so far so good.

Re: Honeymoon in Hawaii
We just got back from Hawaii for 12 days (1 night in San Fran) and with everything... food, entertainment, etc. I would say we spent about $7,000.

Re: Honeymoon in Hawaii
I went last November....they charge an arm and a leg if you are a tourist. They have 3 prices for everything: the tourist price, the local price, and military price. Military is 3 times cheaper than the tourist prices. We were lucky b/c my boyfriend's friend is in the Navy and we got all the military discounts, and we stayed with them at their house. We spent like $3000 between the both ofus, so I guess we got lucky. I would DEFINITELY recommend doing the Atlantis submarine...and also, go see the volcanoes on the Big Island. Hawaii is amazing! Worth every penny....I attached a pic from the North Shore of Oahu...we were there during the national surfing championships...this is at the bonsai pipeline...30 ft waves...COWABUNGA!
We are going for 11 days, 10 nights. We are going to Outrigger in Oahu and Sheraton in Kuai and Maui. With airfare, interconnecting flights, hotel and two car rentals the total was in the mid $5000. This is a once in a lifetime trip and I can't wait. Good luck with everything.

Re: Honeymoon in Hawaii
So far we have spent a little over $4K and that is just for airfare (saved with miles I acrued), hotels, car rental and the cruise we are going on. We are staying at the Halekulani in Oahu for 3 nights, Hyatt in Maui for 2/3 nights and 1 night at the Hyatt in Kauai. The price also includes inter-island flights and car rentals. We are going to be doing alot of adventurous stuff: heli tour, hiking, horse backriding, two couple's massages, luau. I have heard it really depends on what you do with your time. I also hear its worth every penny.
