Seychelles looks incredible! I looked at that as well but it will be cyclone season (January) when we're looking to go. Post pics when you come back.. i'm sure you will have an amazing time!!!
I had my heart set on South Africa but am starting to doubt spending thousands on a trip when the weather will not be ideal (it's the hottest part of their summer in January).
Was there anyplace in the Maldives you'd recommend after your search? Or did you not even get that far after you realized what the weather would be like?

SA and Mauritius was our first obsession. Both Mauritius and and Seychelles are experiencing cyclone season in January. We then shifted to Tanzania (safaris and Zanzibar) but it will be incredibly hot there, similar to South Africa.
Did you plan the trip yourselves or do you have a travel agent you could recommend? Ahhh I just want something booked!

Re: honeymoon in maldives
We planned ourselves for Seychelles but I actually had someone who lives in Seychelles (that i found through my mom) help me and make reccommendations so it was must easier. For Dubai I used Arabian adventures in Dubai.
Honestly I would go to B&N and get a book and you can plan from there. We bought one foe Seychelles and Maritius and its awesome!

Re: honeymoon in maldives
We were dead set on going to SA...capetown, safarii, and then heading to mauritus but I just can't justify the cost of that trip right now. September is also a hard time to travel.
Anyway...I loved the Maldives and hear great things about the Westin and One and Only there. The cost was about the same as the SA trip with about 4k going just to airfare.

Out of curiosity, how many flights are you going to have to take to get there?

Re: honeymoon in maldives
you can get there in two flights. I know you can take more if you want but there is at least one stop.

Re: honeymoon in maldives
We looked into the maldives and there is npt much to do there at all. Fh and I are really active people and would def get bored. Maldives is a sit on the beach and do nothing for the entire time type of place. It does look absolutely amazing though. When we were looking we loved the hotel by the hilton its starts with an R. The hotel is all inclusive and I think they include spa treatments. The hotel has an incredible restaurant built under the ocean and its made of glass so u get to see all of the natural sea life while you eat. Its the only restaurant like this in the world. If we weren't so ancy this would have been the perfect location for us.
